Hi Brandi, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, you could tell our readers some of your backstories.
My name is Brandi Coppinger, and I own Brandi Michele Lash and Beauty. I grew up in a family of entrepreneurs, my grandfather owned a very successful welding shop, and my dad has owned multiple successful businesses. So I knew since I was young that I wanted to own a business one day. When I got to high school, I opened an online boutique called Western Misfits Boutique. I knew I wanted to do something more when I graduated high school, but college just wasn’t for me. I got a job as a receptionist at a facial salon here in Pflugerville and fell in love with the beauty industry. I wanted to start a career in lashing and have my place. I started looking around at schools and found Lash Boss University here in Austin; they taught me everything I needed to know to become a lash technician and helped me study for the state board exams, and I passed and got my license! My boss then told me I couldn’t make it alone, but here I am today, proving her wrong. I’m running my own successful lash business at 22 while being a mother to an 18-month-old.
We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Being a mother and going to school is challenging. I was lucky enough to have my mom able to watch my daughter so I could go to school.
