Hidden Gems: Meet Caleb And Jackie Goodaker-Craig of Strider Reclaimed Goods

Today we’d like to introduce you to Caleb And Jackie Goodaker-Craig.

Hi Caleb and Jackie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Strider Reclaimed Goods grew out of a shared love for design, storytelling, and the thrill of the hunt. Before we had a storefront, we were collectors—curating vintage, oddities, and well-designed pieces for our own space. What started as a side hustle selling under the name Diamond Boy Vintage evolved into a full-time passion.

We opened Strider in 2025, inspired by Jackie’s father, who ran the Strider Pant Company in El Paso in the 1970s. Reclaiming that name was our way of honoring family history while creating something uniquely ours. Today, we run the shop as a family—Caleb and Jackie work side by side, and our daughter Violet is often helping out or greeting customers.

The store is a mix of vintage and modern apparel, home goods, art, and unexpected finds. We’re drawn to pieces with character—items that have lived other lives and carry a story. The space is meant to feel layered, inviting, and just a little weird in the best way. We believe style doesn’t have to be new to be inspired, expressive, polished, playful, or totally out there—whatever your vibe is, there’s a piece with history that fits it.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like any small business journey, it’s been full of twists. Balancing entrepreneurship with family life, navigating a constantly evolving market, and trusting our instincts have all come with their fair share of challenges. The biggest hurdle has been staying true to our vision—choosing to showcase the weird, the nostalgic, and the unexpected, even when it meant going against the grain. But every risk has helped us find the right people—the ones who get it.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Strider Reclaimed Goods ?
Strider is more than a vintage shop—it’s a curated experience rooted in sustainability, individuality, and history. We handpick everything in the store, from a 90s band tee to a sculptural lamp. Our “Fresh Finds” rack rotates often—sometimes daily—so there’s always something new to discover.

We also share our space with Jackie’s other business, Violet Crown Esthetics, which makes Strider a one-stop shop for style and self-care. The overlap of beauty and design has created a space that feels personal and dynamic. We don’t follow mass trends—we curate for people who want to express themselves in a way that feels real.
