Today we’d like to introduce you to Candice Krasovec.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I am a scrappy single mom who grew up in sunny Southern California and moved to New York City to do hair for fashion shows only to have my career cut short after becoming pregnant. Choosing my son over late nights and rubbing elbows with the famous was an easy choice, I love snuggles and pajamas way more! I then started appraising real estate in 2009 and started to just promote myself to new positions. Reinventing myself with each new opportunity. I built national appraisal management companies for lenders, I built multi-million dollar homes as a project manager. I still remain in the business of appraisals but I found myself dusting my contractor hat off as I ventured into building pools. We started as an option for a family member who found herself unable to build her dream pool and no one even able to come give her a quote. So I stepped in with a partner and built her dream pool. His pool construction with my insatiable desire to build and create welded the perfect duo to bringing beautiful pools at a reasonable price.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Austin has so many roadblocks and red tape with permits it’s been such a huge learning curve with that alone. But the hardest is working on a design for a client for hours and then they use it to go get that pool from a larger pool company. It is frustrating to see your hard work given to a competitor because of their larger footprint. We stay small because we enjoy building pools for our clients who become friends to us throughout the process. We get to know them and their families and it’s why we choose not to expand and stretch ourselves thin for larger numbers on a spreadsheet.

It’s a local company that builds luxury pools at affordable prices. We don’t offer repetitive designs and tiles. Each one is unique, each one is custom to our client’s needs and styles. We work extra hard to ensure our pools are built with high-quality standards without the overpriced estimates because we keep our overhead low. We build pools out of acrylic, wood decks, all tiled pools and basically anything you can find from a Pinterest photo at a resort in Bali!
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Integrity. It’s huge. I have seen the underbelly of construction, real estate and high-dollar renovations. There’s a lot of masking and hiding mistakes that will bubble up later down the road. It’s so important to me that I surround myself with people who are real with themselves and their own limitations and with me. Sometimes it’s ok to say hey, I don’t think I’m the best person for that, etc. I admire people who are aware of their limits instead of those who fake it till you make it and end up risking their reputation. But this applies to my personal life too, my son, my family and friends because I need to know if I have food in my teeth even if it will make it awkward for a second. I want those that will be real all of the time and say exactly what they mean and you can count that its truth. It means a lot more to be in the company of these types of people because when they care about you, you don’t have to question it.
