Today we’d like to introduce you to Christie Hall
Hi Christie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Originally from Chicago, I began my career in Early Education as a Director of a Childcare Center in Deerfield, IL. It was my first leadership role, and as a mother of two young children, I had never supervised a team of that size. It was both a scary and exciting opportunity, a truly ambitious challenge. Coming from the inner city of Chicago, I found it intimidating to work with the upper suburban middle class of Illinois. My biggest fear was being judged for having children at a young age. However, I discovered that people generally want the same things: to be heard, respected, and valued. This newfound confidence allowed me to excel and advance in my career.
In my role, I relocated to Texas and oversaw a hospital-sponsored child care program. I was quickly promoted into various leadership positions with Bright Horizons Family Solutions. After moving to Dallas in 2006 for a leadership role, I met my husband, Mr. Byron Hall, and I moved to Austin in 2008.
It was at my brother-in-law’s 60th birthday party, a woman asked, “Have you ever thought about getting into real estate?” After careful reflection, I felt that God was leading me in a new direction, where I could apply my foundation of leadership, people values, and customer service to a career in Real Estate. I have a passion for educating, advocating, and providing excellent customer service. My core belief is that it’s not about what I know, but how I make people feel during their most critical life decisions.
In 2015, I took a leap of faith and started my new career as a full-time real estate agent. The first year was challenging as I adjusted to the discipline of a work schedule. In 2016, I refocused and took my business to the next level. By 2018, I became a top-producing agent with Keller Williams Realty, leading the Homes with Hall team. During my time there, I shifted my mindset around success, becoming focused, disciplined, and a master of the Real Estate business.
I ended my time at Keller Williams with a top-producing team and started my own brokerage in 2020, amidst a pandemic. My office manager and I focused on building the foundation of Homes with Hall Realty I founded my business upon 3 pillars; Education, Advocacy, and Emotional Intelligence. These are the foundations for a superior experience whether you are a client or agent of Homes With Hall Realty. I strive to serve my community at a high level and integrate myself in the community so that everyone knows who they can trust and count on.
In 2023 I founded the Homes with Hall Foundation which is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to cultivating a wealth building mindset in our underserved black and brown youth to create generational wealth and to bridge the gap of real estate ownership. Our vision is to have a world where youth have equal access to financial education, resources, and opportunities to create generational wealth through Real Estate. As we embark on this noble journey, we are seeking donations from compassionate and forward- thinking individuals like you, who share our passion for empowering the community.
We firmly believe that building a strong financial foundation can bridge the generational wealth gap and help unlock the true potential of individuals, families, and our community as a whole. Our mission encompasses several key initiatives: Wealth Building Workshops: Conducting educational workshops and seminars to provide essential financial literacy skills, investment knowledge, and entrepreneurship guidance.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Real Estate was indeed a whole new world for me, and the transition from Early Childhood Education was quite a leap. It was challenging enough navigating the complexities of the material, regulations, laws, and contracts. Pairing that with the unpredictable day-to-day life of a new real estate agent was truly demanding.
As a woman and minority, I faced additional hurdles in establishing myself in this industry. Overcoming biases and stereotypes while building a business from scratch with no regular income was, at times, daunting. Learning to set realistic goals, maintaining discipline in a self-set work schedule, and prospecting for clients were all crucial, but also amplified the uncertainties. There were moments when fear and doubt crept in, but my determination to succeed always pushed me forward. I know that I was called to change the faces of real estate.
We’ve been impressed with Homes With Hall Realty , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

We specialize in residential and commercial real estate, with a focus on creating opportunities for homeownership, fostering community growth, and building generational wealth through real estate.
What sets us apart is our the culture I built within our brokerage. It’s one that thrives on collaboration and support. It’s the environment that empowers our agents to make a meaningful and positive impact in the lives of our clients and our community. We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
As the owner of Homes With Hall Realty, I firmly believe that calculated risk-taking is essential for growth and success in the real estate industry. While prudence and strategy are critical, avoiding risks altogether can result in missed opportunities and stagnation. True leadership involves stepping out of comfort zones to pursue a vision, even when the path ahead is uncertain.
One of the defining risks I’ve taken was launching Homes With Hall Realty. Starting a new business in a highly competitive market like Austin during a pandemic, it required not only determination but also a deep belief in my vision and my ability to create something meaningful and enduring. It was a leap of faith.
Another calculated risk I’ve embraced is focusing on a personalized approach, prioritizing relationships over transactions. As the owner of Homes With Hall Realty, I not only take calculated risks for the growth of the business but also invest heavily in the success of our agents. I believe that empowering agents with the right tools, training, and mentorship is key to fostering their confidence and success
I approach decisions with careful analysis, weighing the potential outcomes and developing strategies to mitigate any downsides. Flexibility and adaptability are also crucial. I’m always prepared to pivot when circumstances change to ensure we stay on track toward our goals.
Ultimately, I view risk as a necessary and inevitable part of running a business. By embracing it thoughtfully and strategically, I’ve been able to turn challenges into opportunities and position Homes With Hall Realty as a company built on vision, trust, and a commitment to excellence.
