Today we’d like to introduce you to Claire Kurio Ruwwe.

Hi Claire, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
In December 2022, I founded Austin Concierge Company, driven by the belief that everyone deserves the luxury of time. Before launching my company, I served as the Director of Commercial Marketing for a commercial real estate firm in Austin, where I leveraged my expertise in marketing and client relations to drive business growth and build lasting partnerships. During this time, I worked closely with busy professionals and their families and saw firsthand the challenge of finding reliable support when needs didn’t fit into a traditional 40-hour workweek. Recognizing this gap, I created a service designed to provide flexible, high-quality assistance tailored to modern lifestyles.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like any small business, nothing goes as smoothly as we would like! The biggest struggle in the type of business I run is building out a team that is reflective of the quality level of service that we bring to clients. Thankfully, I have an incredible team of 6 amazing women with strong academic backgrounds, the desire to serve others, and a passion for the business. It hasn’t been easy to build this team, but I am beyond grateful for it now and excited to see it grow.

Austin Concierge Company offers fractional lifestyle management services to busy families and businesses, designed to give you back your most valuable asset: TIME. We specialize in blurring the lines between personal and professional to provide assistance in all aspects of your life without the commitment of a full-time employee. Our services are uniquely curated and designed to support the busy family, c-suite executive, entrepreneur, and small business owner. Our long list of services ranges from curating travel itineraries, coordinating events, gift shopping and gift wrap, booking reservations and appointments, managing home maintenance and other specialty vendors, and ensuring our client’s lives are operating smoothly and at full capacity so they can focus on more time with their family, taking a much needed vacation or simply catching a breath of fresh air!

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
Taking risks has always been an integral part of my professional journey. After working as the Director of Commercial Marketing for a commercial real estate firm in Austin, I found myself at a crossroads. I was exposed to a fast-paced environment where busy professionals were constantly juggling work, life, and play. This dynamic space provided me with valuable insights into the needs of high-level professionals, and I quickly identified a gap in the market for tailored, high-level support. This realization ultimately led me to take a significant risk by leaving my corporate job to pursue something I felt more aligned with—scaling a business that strives to help others each day. While leaving a stable career could have been daunting, I viewed it as an opportunity to create something meaningful. I believe that risk-taking is essential for growth, both personally and professionally, as it pushes you to step out of your comfort zone and embrace new challenges that lead to long-term success.
