Today we’d like to introduce you to Deepika Ganne.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I completed my dental school in India in 1997, and pursuit of further education brought me to the USA where I went to New York to obtain my DDS and decided to specialize in endodontics.
One of the main reasons I chose endodontics was the instant gratification.. I could see my patient who came to me in pain, leave smiling right after treatment.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It was a complicated path that included some challenges along the way.
Studying in a reputed college, Columbia Univ, among world class teachers and highly motivated students was a blessing but being far away from family and friends and the financial strain of higher education did lead to some struggles. Also, having my first child while still at school was an amazing and and challenging event at the same time.
