Hidden Gems: Meet Full Humanity

Today we’d like to introduce you to Full Humanity. Them and their team share their story with us below:

The Universe has a way of connecting people who are meant to be on a journey together. In 2018, Skye Howell and Nicole Bell met at ACC through the Equity Associates Collaborative created by Dr. Stephanie Hawley. The Collaborative was a training ground for developing a coalition of Equity and Inclusion Transformation Consultants at Austin Community College (ACC) and in the community.

Skye and Tiffanie Harrison met at a BRAVE communities panel on Education and Cultural Proficiency also held at ACC. They instantly hit it off and worked together to support Round Rock ISD’s equity and inclusion.

Nicole says, After finishing the collaborative training and graduating, Skye and I connected more deeply and co-facilitated racial healing circles at different conferences in 2018., one of them being the Courageous Conversations about Race Summit in Philadelphia. Skye, Tiffanie, and I were selected for the new Courageous Conversations about Race facilitator certification program through the City of Austin (there were only 14 of us chosen out of 40 interested). Even though we were all on this new adventure together, I knew Skye and Skye knew Tiffanie and I had heard of Tiffanie but we hadn’t met. I had heard so many times that I should meet Tiffanie Harrison. I heard this from Skye, my friend Emlyn Lee of BRAVE communities, and many others but interestingly, I had still not met Tiffanie in person. So, like any good fan- I followed her on Facebook! LOL.

We finally met up at Austins’ first Equity Space Summit in 2019. Skye and I presented and then went to Tiffanie’s presentation in the next room. We connected and spent the rest of the conference side-by-side at the luncheon, newfound sisters!

In 2020, over lunch at the Blue Corn Harvest in Georgetown Texas, we dreamed about one day going into business and working together to uplift marginalized voices, provide partnership to those organizations that want to unlearn white supremacy culture, and become anti-racist leaders. Today, dreams are actualized.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
The road has not always been smooth. We are a company of three headstrong and brilliant women and we had to learn how to effectively communicate and work to each other’s strengths. We pride ourselves on having a serendipitous flow and genuine love and respect for each other, making the work all that much more rewarding and fun. Our work can be spiritually arduous, as we bare our souls by sharing our personal stories and experiences navigating the complexities of our race, gender, and cultural identity. We are grateful to support and sustain one another as Warrior Women in the battle to ensure a better world for generations to come.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Our vision is Equity Actualized. We do this by leaning into our mission of curating spaces where Full Humanity can THRIVE. Full Humanity was founded in 2020 with the desire to support our community in finding ways to show up fully in all the facets of our daily lives.

Together we share what it means to show up in our Full Humanity.

Nicole: Full Humanity, to me, is about staying true to your why, being able to live it out loud unashamedly and freely, and making space for others to do the same.

Skye: For me, Full Humanity is making the invisible- visible. As a White, Native woman who was detribalized through a forced adoption and raised in Houston TX, Full Humanity exists at the intersections of the language of our ancestors, race, culture and belonging.

Tiffanie: Full Humanity is about creating spaces where people can show up as their full selves. As an educator, I know these liberating spaces allow students to thrive. This freedom is applicable in any setting.

We strive to achieve full humanity for our clients through learning experiences that develop racial consciousness by sharing tools, practices and creating space to share in the collective wisdom of those we serve. We are a BIPOC woman-owned firm and we have a diverse range of consultants on our team with expertise in education, staff training and development, strategic planning, human resources, assessment, research, and evaluation. Since starting our consulting firm, we have been honored to support Texas Appleseed, Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, Explore Austin, Realty Austin, Habitat for Humanity, and Woollard, Nichols & Associates as they seek to align their mission, values and to support equity and inclusion and practices to become more equitable.
