Hidden Gems: Meet LeDarrius “LD” Harris of Bobcat Nutrition

Today we’d like to introduce you to LeDarrius “LD” Harris.

Hi LeDarrius “LD”, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started my business my senior year of college. I was playing football at Texas State University and our nutrition was not the best. My wife was pregnant with our daughter and I did not feel comfortable not being able to provide for my family, as we were having our second child. So I started my nutrition company trying to help my friends and family get healthy! Her and I made a deal that if I could double her income, she would retire. I doubled her income in just a few months. Two years later, my wife and I now have our own storefront in San Marcos trying to help bring healthy options to the community! We both graduated from Texas State and we started our family here so we felt like this was the place that God called us to.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it wasn’t a smooth road at all. When I started my business, I didn’t have a storefront. I did everything out of our tiny apartment and was shipping to people who trusted in us around the world. The hard part came that I couldn’t get a lot of people to trust in me. We had to use our personal results, putting our lives on social media, and building our brand for people to trust in us.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We offer so many beneficial things from pre/post-workout, high protein shakes, sugar-free energy teas, and guiltless waffles! We are the brand! When you walk into Bobcat, you will be greeted with a genuine welcome and we really do get to know our clients because we love our community! This is our family. What separates us is we are just not a smoothie shop – we care about people and their journey! We build relationships and support them from start to finish. We work out with people, we hold them accountable, we put them into chats with others like them to keep them motivated! We host body transformation challenges to give them an incentive to kickstart their healthy lifestyle.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I don’t believe in luck! I believe in God! I feel that the Lord will continue to lead and guide me into whatever direction I need to be in. During this process, we faced many obstacles but I know God gave me the strength to endure all that he put on me.
