Today we’d like to introduce you to Mike Pelland.
Hi Mike, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My Wife and I moved to Texas in 1996. After going back to school at 26 years old I have spent 27 years in the Tech industry designing computer chips. My wife has spent over 30 years as a geriatric nurse and now works as a Medicare biller. Dog ‘n’ Bone Pub started out as a dream to server Fish & Chips but has turn into a local pub with full bar and live music nightly.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I guess the most challenging things to deal with is all the city and state permits. The second challenge is keeping above water when things break or need extensive maintenance… Then there is staffing and I cover the bar when needed.
We’ve been impressed with Dog ‘n’ Bone, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
ABOUT US
The Dog ‘n’ Bone Pub is here in the historical district of Dripping Springs.
The owners, Mike and Cindy Pelland, originally hail from New England and have been Texas residents over 29 years.
DnB offers Mixed Drinks, Beer and Wine and features our 14 tap Bar with LIVE music nightly.
Our building has stayed in-keeping with the historical district and has retained it’s references to it’s original purpose as the first local telephone exchange in Dripping Springs.
The pub’s name, Dog ‘n’ Bone, is a reflection of the building’s origin as a telephone exchange. “Dog and Bone” is British Cockney rhyming slang for “telephone”.
Dog ‘n’ Bone looks forward to welcoming you and your family to our little piece of Texas….
