Finding Purpose in Workforce Solutions
I never expected to develop such a strong passion for employee retention and Workforce Solutions, but looking back, it makes sense. People-focused consulting has always been a personal goal—something rooted in my desire to create meaningful impact for both individuals and organizations. Maybe it’s the middle child in me, but I’ve always had a natural inclination to build bridges between people, especially when there’s a disconnect.
I found my niche in Workforce Solutions for high-turnover industries, where helping both employees and employers succeed is not just possible—it’s necessary. It’s become the sweet spot where I can truly make a difference.
The path that led me here started with my own experience as an employee. I’ve worked across a variety of industries. I began with temporary roles, which gave me a front-row seat to different workplace cultures in a short span of time. I later contracted at a large tech company, moved on to manage contractors at another, and eventually joined a home care franchise to improve caregiver recruitment and retention strategies.
These experiences helped me understand the challenges from both sides. It’s tough to manage a team when turnover is high. It’s equally tough to be an employee who feels like they’re constantly starting over because the workplace isn’t meeting their needs.
That’s what inspired me to start Sage Elevation Consulting—to help businesses uncover the real reasons behind their turnover, develop strategies that improve retention, and ultimately create better environments for their teams. Whether it’s a hospital, a hospice, or any other high-turnover industry, my goal is to elevate businesses- one team at a time.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My personal journey to starting Sage Elevation had quite a few challenges. While the individual circumstances are unique to me, trying to navigate the current expectations of today’s workforce seemed commonplace. I found myself at multiple companies I was initially excited to join. But over time, the truth became harder to ignore. The environments were often toxic, growth opportunities were scarce, and the workloads were overwhelming—draining both my energy and my passion. Most of the time, it wasn’t just one issue. It was all of them, layered on top of each other.
For years, I tried to “make it work,” convincing myself I needed more experience, more insight, more something before I could go out on my own. But eventually, I stopped waiting and took the leap.
Launching Sage Elevation has already been met with encouraging momentum. I think it’s a reflection of the moment we’re in: businesses are beginning to recognize the real cost of high turnover, and employees are no longer willing to stay in environments that don’t support their growth or well-being.
