Today we’d like to introduce you to Olesya Redina.
Olesya, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Helping my father in his darkroom as a child in Russia led me first to advanced art education. In the United States, I earned a degree in Fine Arts that, complemented by Graphic and Digital Design instruction at New York City’s renowned PRATT Institute, gave me a rare multi-media perspective. I learned the vast difference between shooting a picture and envisioning what every image can be.
Over the years, my passion for photography grew stronger and in 2013, I founded Zesty Orange Photography.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The decision to move my family business to a new city (Austin) in 2019 was a nerve-racking one. Relocating my studio and building a client base from ground zero was a challenge for sure. However, I can’t imagine any better place to grow my brand and a better community to serve than fellow Austinites.
In 2020, right after signing my commercial studio lease, we were all plunged into the Covid pandemic. This was tough and eye-opening at the same time. I loved seeing our community supporting and embracing each other during these tough times!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
There were lots of photographers eager to sell, but none took the time to create an experience that integrated art and delivered photographs that exceeded expectations. And no one offered help with the many details combining in a truly complete end-to-end process to capture your family’s story. I designed our dynamic studio to enhance the process. A professional consultation that creates true
photographic art is only possible by guiding every step; hair, makeup, lighting, wardrobe, and staging. For me, the artistic process couldn’t be more personal, and you’ll see that difference in every photograph I take and in an approach that looks beyond transactions to relationships.
As a mother, dissatisfaction with the digitals only photographers left me determined to offer not just an assembly line snapshot but an affordable luxury experience. Safety is a top priority and I take great pride in my newborn safety certification, a studio like no other, and heirloom quality for everyone.
Sessions are family affairs, and from our café station to a play area for little ones, everyone is welcomed.
What’s next?
I plan to continue to go above and beyond for my clients, providing them with excellent customer service. Assisting my clients to create portraits they are proud to display in their homes and elevate my knowledge with continuing education in my field.
My goal is to be an indispensable part of the success of my headshots and business portrait clients, providing them with excellent customer service and the best images they ever had.
A lot of my clients tell me that they love the way their portraits look, make them feel, and enjoy viewing them over and over again. It brings me joy to know I brought smiles and happiness into my client’s daily lives and I hope to continue with it in the future.
