Today we’d like to introduce you to Raquel Rodriguez
Hi Raquel, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hello! My name is Raquel Rodriguez. Born and raised in Queens, New York! Started my career in accounting and worked my way to corporate business development. I enjoy all aspects of business so it was a perfect role for me. My husband Diego, worked in his family business of Decorative Glass working with architects and designers since a young age.
In 2020, we moved to Austin, Texas – sight unseen. Just sold our house, packed up the kids and left all our friends and family. We didn’t have any positions lined up, we didn’t even have a place to live. But we had Faith – in God and ourselves. We love adventure and that sure turned out to be one! It was during the pandemic so that made it more interesting. After a couple of months, Diego and I joined forces and put our skills to work. We became a Husband and Wife powerteam in the Remodeling space. With my business background and Diego’s attention to detail and creativity, we built a business based on quality and integrity and excellent communication.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Ha! It was not easy! Though my background is in business, I didn’t have any knowledege in the constuction field. We took it a step at a time. I spent my days researching and talking to whoever would talk with us. And many sleepless nights. Diego spent his time purchasing the right equiment and fine tuning his skills.
We’ve been impressed with D&R Custom Remodeling, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
D&R Custom Remodeling specializes in interior residential remodeling. We love kitchens and bathrooms because we can get creative. Those are also special parts of the home and provide the most ROI to the homeowner.
What sets us apart is that we are a husband and wife team that works on all the projects. We both pay attention to all the details (there are many!) and give excellent customer service and quality results. We want our clients 110% ecstatic about their project.
We are most proud of US. We’ve come a long way in a short period of time – because we just always “Do the Right Thing and We Do it Well!”
All of clients love working with us because we are really flexible and easy to work with. We really enjoy helping our clients through the process – making selections, thinking through how they want to use their space, etc.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Integrity
Contractors have a bad wrap – and we easily destroy that misconception by being our honest, sincere selves. We always try to do what we say we are going to do. That builds trust.
