Hidden Gems: Meet Reagan Weaver of Hammer Down Roofing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Reagan Weaver

Hi Reagan, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I grew up looking up to a generation of very strong, hardworking, and independent women. I was born and raised in Austin and the surrounding areas. I had a child young and took the unconventional route to get to where I am today. I’m a survivor and have overcome health issues, past trauma, and more. I fought to be where I am now and to be the mother I strive to be for my children.

I work as an independent contractor in the roofing industry at Hammer Down Roofing and Construction. I have experience in management, sales, and television, and I’ve made amazing connections with a network of incredible women. As a woman in a male-dominated industry, I aim to change industry standards by proving that women belong here, serving my clients with the utmost care, and giving back to the community. I want to show the community of women that anything is possible, regardless of the circumstances or pushback we face in society.

My mission, outside of the career I’ve worked so hard for, is to fight to make the world a better place.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Growing up, we moved a lot because my parents sought better work opportunities. My mother made sure we were self-reliant, so everything I have, I worked for and earned myself. This upbringing prepared me to overcome challenges such as battling an autoimmune disease that turned my world upside down for several years, losing a few loved ones, and experiencing my separation from my child’s father.

I was a stay-at-home mom raising my son for three years and had to completely rebrand and rebuild myself from nothing. I know what it’s like to rise to the top, fall, and have nothing. I’m blessed to say I’ve come as far as I have. I’m a huge advocate for women because of these experiences. There have been many struggles, but they’ve made me the best version of myself today.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I work as a self-employed contractor for Hammer Down Roofing and Construction. I am a business partner and area director for this woman-owned business. I assist homeowners in getting any projects done for their property. We offer a wide variety of services, including roofing, remodeling, flooring, add-ons, gutters, etc. We are truly a one-stop shop.

I would say what sets me apart is the fact that I treat clients like family. I don’t do this just for myself, but to serve others. I also like to give back to the community as much as possible through this profession. I think the fact that we are woman-owned, that we offer so many services, and that we treat our employees and customers like family is what I’m most proud of. Our actions are what set us apart.

We also give back referral incentives to people who share our company with others by word of mouth. We truly go above and beyond to show thanks to those who support our business and our community.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
The biggest advice is to keep working hard, make connections, and don’t give up. Anything is achievable that you put your mind, heart, and soul into. This industry is one where you learn so much as you go. It’s so important to have the right leadership and mentorship to help you excel.

I think it’s also important to have a servant’s heart for those you are working with. People really appreciate you looking out for them and caring for them. That’s the only way to do business.
