Today we’d like to introduce you to Robert Gayle.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Looking back, this journey really started in childhood. I grew up surrounded by music—my dad always had vinyl playing during family parties, and even at a young age, I was captivated by the energy, connection, and joy those gatherings created. I didn’t realize it then, but those moments planted the seeds for what would become my lifelong passion for music and event hosting.
Fast forward to about 10 years ago, that passion turned into purpose. I started with a few DJ gigs—no team, no gear inventory—just me, a controller, and a vision for how events should feel. A couple years later, I officially launched Pour Vous Entertainment in Austin, Texas, and what began as a solo DJ operation has since grown into a full-service event production company.
Today, we offer DJ/MC services, photo booths, event lighting, bartending, catering, vintage phone booth rentals, and audio guestbooks—everything designed to create elevated experiences and give our clients total peace of mind.
In March, we celebrated a major milestone: our 800th event. From backyard weddings to black-tie galas and our signature NYE parties, it’s been a decade of growth, learning, and building meaningful relationships with clients and collaborators.
It’s taken a lot of late nights, grit, and love—but I’m proud of what we’ve built and energized for what’s next.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Has it been a smooth road? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road—but embracing a student mindset has made all the difference. From day one, I’ve approached every challenge as a chance to learn, grow, and refine the way we operate.
In the early days, it was all trial and error. I had to quickly figure out how to manage tight event timelines, juggle multiple vendors, and stay calm when plans shifted at the last minute—which, in this industry, happens more often than not. Those experiences taught me how important it is to stay flexible, think on my feet, and always have a backup plan (and sometimes a backup for the backup).
Every event—whether it’s a wedding, private party, or corporate function—comes with its own unique moving parts. But those early roadblocks helped me build better systems, hire the right people, and develop a mindset rooted in problem-solving, not panic.
It hasn’t always been easy, but it’s been incredibly rewarding. Each hurdle has strengthened our foundation and made Pour Vous Entertainment the reliable, high-performing brand it is today.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At Pour Vous Entertainment, we don’t just throw parties—we curate unforgettable experiences. Based in Austin, Texas, our company has grown from a DJ-focused startup into a full-service event production brand, offering everything from wedding DJ/MC services and corporate event entertainment to photo booths, event lighting, bartending, catering, audio guestbooks, and our signature vintage phone booth rentals.
What truly sets us apart is our full-circle approach to event planning. Whether it’s a romantic hill country wedding, a brand activation, or a private celebration, we handle every detail with care—from customized playlists and bar menus to seamless guest experiences that leave a lasting impression.
We’re proud to be a go-to resource for weddings, corporate events, and private parties in Austin. Clients often tell us they chose us not only for our creativity and professionalism, but because we make the planning process smooth, stress-free, and fun.
One of the things we’re best known for is our annual New Year’s Eve event in Austin, which has grown into a citywide tradition. Our very first NYE party hosted just over 100 people. Since then, we’ve leveled up with a sold-out mansion party with an all-white attire theme, and most recently, a Masquerade Ball at the iconic Sunset Room in downtown Austin—welcoming nearly 500 guests. These high-energy, high-style events showcase our passion for immersive, luxury event production and creating memorable moments on a large scale.
To date, we’ve proudly produced over 800 events and counting. Our mission remains the same: to help our clients celebrate life’s most important moments—beautifully, thoughtfully, and with just the right amount of wow.
If you’re looking for event planning in Austin, DJ and entertainment services, or a trusted partner to bring your vision to life, we’re the perfect fit!
What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories is being about six years old, watching my family host these incredible parties. I was too young to join the dancing, music, and late-night fun fully, but I remember soaking it all in from the sidelines—the energy, the laughter, the music. Looking back, I think those early moments planted the seed for everything I’ve built today.
Another core memory is my dad spinning vinyl records on his player at home. That’s where my love for music truly began. That passion stuck with me and eventually led me to earn a Bachelor of Science in Music Production—which gave me both the technical foundation and creative drive to start something of my own.
