Hi Robin, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As an overview
Two British ex international corporate execs from differing backgrounds in industry started to build from scratch, custom electric golf carts in their garages in Steiner Ranch, purely for fun and to escape ex corporate boredom.
As the interest grew we set up a small business called Sterling Carts, this lead to an increase in interest and finally we invested in a well known dealership for multiple types of electric carts for leisure and business use.
As electric transport is in the forefront of technology at this time and as accomplished petrol head motorcyclists with years of riding and racing under our belts, we were really interested by the new era of high tech electric off/on road E-bikes, We changed our company name and logos to Sterling Electric Vehicles in mid 2024 and now have multiple dealerships from multiple Ebike manufactures along with the electric carts.
We are always looking for the next innovative electric transport creations that are out there, as this technology certainly has the an exciting exponential growth.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
We pride ourselves based on our corporate background that we grow to the speed we want to. Our motto is “if you not having fun at what you do, don’t do it”
Communication is the most important of the 10 facets of management. If this is not managed effectively both internally and externally then it will be the downfall of the other 9. Most problems that occur in business fall under communication problems.
In our view the US suffers from poor business communication across many important sectors and can be highly frustrating to achieve the simplest to even complex goals and timeframes.
We’ve been impressed with Sterling EV, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As a small company our growth over the last 3 years has been steady, we pride ourselves in close customer service so the client has faith in both the product and service, after sales customer focus is important to make sure the longevity of the product and the client has minimal problems.
We believe in electric technology but there are the good and the bad, our dealer brands have proven reliability, sustainability and warranty periods and come in at a fair sales cost.
Our reviews are very positive and problems with the products have been extremely minimal
As a small company the clients are dealing with the owners most of the time, this sits well with the customers.
We have high end electric carts for leisure and business uses, plus high tech E bikes to suit all ages, we have inventory to test ride and have quick turnaround on orders if not in stock, we have specific accessories, however our goal is have products that are fully loaded to out the door.
We can finance our products through our partnering with specific financial institutions that deal with these products
We also have business partnerships with a multitude of small companies for customization of our products that the client may require, these are again economical solutions with quick turnaround times.
With the world buying online of these products which has its problems of scams and repairs, we pride ourselves that we have the products and the customer can see and test ride and be confident there is a company they can trust with their purchase, before and after
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
As we started after the covid outbreak, our journey has been free from most of the issues this created, however the industry ramp up of production due to labour layoffs and material shortages has some effect on getting specific items but this is now virtually back to normal, however negative business attitudes are still apparent.
