Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Denham.
Hi Sarah, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m Sarah, 35 a mom of three.
It all started in highschool I had a love of of doing all my friends hair. My dad is now a retired police officer, but at the time he worked a lot and my mom was always there. I knew in whatever my future looked like I wanted to be present in my kids life and be able to be there and make my own schedule. I was going through emt school while working as a 9-1-1 operator and just knew it wasn’t my calling.
I decided to go to beauty school when my daughter was 6 months old. From there my love of making women feel beautiful grew more and more and is my passion. After working in a few different booth rent salons, I knew my true calling was to open my own place. I started a salon called Level 5 Salon. Through my journey there I knew I was being called to do something more. I decided to close Level 5 Salons door and open a faith based salon called Beloved Beauty + Co. We are the first faith based salon in burnet, where we talk about our love for Jesus and a open atmosphere where you can walk in feeling loved.
I have since won the Locals Love us best hairstylist for the last 2 years for burnet.
We also won best salon for the locals love us for the last 3 years
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not a smooth road, trying to navigate owning my own salon business. I think dealing with the public it’s hard. Coming out of beauty school they tend to say it takes a minimum of 5 years to build a full clientele. I went through a separation from my kids dad and left the salon for a bit of time and when I came back it was the start of covid and back shut down. Then branched off to open my own salon is its own trials and tribulations
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I’m a hair salon, we specialize in hair color, and extensions.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was always told I talked to much, I was too loud all the things. Turns out I was made to be a hairstylist
