Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
The beauty industry has always been my dream since the age of 7 years old. I went to Texas Southern University and got my degree in Business Administration from the JHJ school of business. Received my Cosmetology license from Paul Mitchell, The School. Opening my first salon, The Look Salon Houston in 2015, now expanded to 3 locations in Texas including Houston, Katy & Austin.
My goal for The Look Salon brand is to be known as the most diversely skilled salon in Texas. Having highly trained licensed professionals to serve any texture of hair that walks in our doors, women, and men. Glad to say we have achieved that goal!
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Smooth only on Sundays and Mondays because the salons are can closed! Lol. Anything you truly are passionate about will have some detours. But eventually, that drive you have, you will make it to your destination, where there are less bumps in the road for sure.

I am the proud owner of The Look Salon with locations in Houston, Katy & Austin Texas. Our salons are known for being the most diversely skilled salons in Texas. No matter what texture of hair walks into our salons, we have a skilled team of licensed professionals who can give them The Look!
What sets us apart from others is we started The Look Salon Summer Camp in 2021. Campers ages 7-15 get to learn the art & science of hair styling, product creation, entrepreneurship, fashion, self care, skin care, nails and makeup! Along with building self-esteem, being kind, confidence and finding their greatness within! Our team is full of amazing stylists who are multi-talented, and excited to teach the campers there’s so much more to this industry and whatever else they want to do in the future.
The Look Salon is your full service salon. Your go-to for women and men haircuts, color, chemical treatments, natural styling and extensions. We strive to make sure our client’s experience is a wow Experience. From our customer-friendly online booking to our direct menu of services to when clients arrive at our salon, receiving a welcoming greeting from our team.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Partnerships I have found to work pretty well. Partnering with our businesses in your industry that is not competing with the services or products you offer. Another great networking tool is joining groups on social media and small business organizations. So many people we don’t even know are out there looking to help you succeed. You just have to find your tribe.
