Inspiring Conversations with Aaron Brady of Brady WoodWorks

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aaron Brady.

Hi Aaron, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Well, it all started for me in “The Service Industry”. I spent 30 years working in The Service Industry which I genuinely loved. I started washing dishes when ‘i was 13 and have done it all. People are my passion and the ability to be able to be present with anyone i meet is the greatest reward I could ever ask for. I have learned so much over the years about patience, dealing with assholes and being able to react calmly in stressful situations. I thrive when I know it’s about to get chaotic and rather than the stress I have adapted to taking it all in and started digging when the shit hits the fan. I have learned a strong work ethic through this and it ultimately helped to mold the man I am today.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road is never smooth and if it is for too long, you know that pothole is just waiting for you. I have had a blessed life. Two amazing Parents that raised me in very social settings and really helped to shape that little boy into someone who loves deeply. I am a bleeding heart and wear my emotions on my sleeve. I may be a big bearded fella that looks tough but I care deeply about people and doing what’s right. Standing up for anyone who needs help no matter how dire the consequences. I learned that from watching my Dad. He was my Hero and lost him years ago while he and my mom were visiting us during Christmas. To watch the man I thought was bigger than life just fade before my eyes in 3 weeks was devastating and debilitating. That has been and is my hardest struggle to date.

Everything else is Rainbows and Butterflies. Health is the only true thing that really matters

As you know, we’re big fans of Brady WoodWorks. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I am a one man show. I create pieces ranging from Barn Doors, Tiny Homes, Accent Walls, Ceilings, and even had the opportunity to do all of the Antiquing for The Miraval Resort In Austin. I am known for doing a lot of Shou Sugi Bahn which is the Japanese Process of burning wood to create something so unique and beautiful.

I don’t spend time in front of the Computer sketching and drawing ideas for my clients. I have learned over the years that to build a solid reputation and portfolio I needed to have the ability to create as I go and work side by side with my clients in creating the vision they ultimately had in mind. It’s my passion to create relationships that thrive off the principle of “truth in self”. If I can’t wake up daily and love the person I have become then how in the hell will I ever show that in my everyday life. I love people and it honestly shows in all of my relationships. That is what I am most proud of…

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I honestly believe anyone who starts their own company is a risk taker. It’s pretty humbling to walk away from the corporate world and decide to kick your own ass while creating something beautiful and truly yours. Every piece of work I complete creates a reassurance that I have done the right thing.

Without risk, I honestly believe we would have nothing to show for. I mean it’s a risk to walk up to a beautiful woman or handsome fella and just say hi. It’s the unknown that makes it all worth living for.

Sometimes you just have to say “fuck it”. With peace and love…
