Today we’d like to introduce you to Aaron Witters.
Hi Aaron, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It actually started in Nebraska of all places, we had an annual trip to Lake McConaughy. On the trip, we would be camping out on the beach wishing we had some jet skis to ride. Unfortunately, the availability was limited to say the least; so after several years of being unable to rent, Play Watersports was born. We got to work, did the math, and realized Nebraska has a really short season! We were in luck though, as one of the members of our camping trip and my old college roommate was located in central Texas. We decided that Texas was the better spot (the lakes, like everything else, are bigger in Texas). We opened for business in April of 2021, and needless to say we made a splash! We are open and operating now, and we are loving Austin and all of central Texas.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I wish I could say it had been smooth, but like many other businesses, we were caught up in a post covid supply chain cluster. To this point, we are still waiting on some parts from vendors. We also had a hard time with licensing, there are just a ton of different authorities involved with the lakes, from park rangers to the army, so navigating all of that was difficult as well. But in the long run, it was worth it, and we are glad to be on good terms with the lake authorities out there.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We are a jet ski rental company, we provide a high-quality rental, with an even better customer service experience. We have brand new equipment, and in a few short months, we have solidified ourselves as a premier brand for all occasions. We have done several company retreats, birthday parties, family reunions, or just a fun day on the lake. We want readers to know that we are here for them and are happy to help people of any skill level enjoy our jet skis to the fullest extent.
What matters most to you? Why?
Providing a quality service that supports the local community and provides a service that people want. We want to show how much we enjoy what we do, and we want to share the experience with everyone.
