Today we’d like to introduce you to Alisa Wells.
Hi Alisa, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Jenny and I both came into real estate with deep roots. Our families have been in the industry for generations, from home builders to land developers. So in many ways, real estate has always been in our DNA.
By the time we met, we were each already established agents in Austin. Jenny had built a reputation not only for her success in sales but also for her hands-on experience with new construction and remodeling. I had built my business around helping families navigate the Austin market with a focus on lifestyle fit, relocations, and strategic sales. Together, we have a combined 30+ years of experience.
When we decided to join forces, it felt like a natural next step. We realized that together, we could offer something rare, not only the combination of market expertise, design and build experience, and a shared entrepreneurial spirit. But two schedules and two expert opinions, this is very valuable to our clients. That mix has allowed us to guide clients through every stage, whether that’s finding a new home, preparing one to sell, or reimagining a space through remodeling.
Some of our most memorable successes have come from this approach…taking homes that needed updates, overseeing thoughtful renovations, and ultimately helping clients sell faster and net significantly more. It’s incredibly rewarding to see those transformations, both in the homes and in the opportunities they create for our clients.
Today, we focus on serving families across Westlake, Lake Travis, and the greater Austin area, and we’re proud to bring both our history and our forward-looking vision into every project.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like any entrepreneurial journey, it hasn’t always been a smooth road. Real estate is such a people-driven business, and while that’s what we love about it, it also means we’re constantly navigating big life changes with our clients. Relocations, upsizing for growing families, downsizing after kids leave home, or even the stress of getting a house market-ready while juggling everything else in life. Challenging markets make the process all the more stressful, and we pride ourselves on being the calm support our clients need.
Another big challenge has been keeping up with the fast pace of marketing changes. We’ve always put a strong focus on online marketing, from our website with SEO and AI-driven searches, to Google PPC ads, to staying active on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and Google. The digital landscape is always evolving, and we’ve had both big wins and some lessons learned along the way. Not every agent leans into this side of the business, but for us, it’s been important to meet clients where they are and make sure their homes get maximum exposure.
On the renovation and prep side, there are always bumps, it’s the nature of it. Timelines, budgets, unexpected surprises once walls are opened up. We’ve learned to lean into communication and problem-solving, because at the end of the day, our clients trust us to carry that stress so they don’t have to. Many of our clients are out of town, so we are their eyes and ears too, it’s a big responsibility. When it comes to the building challenges, that feels like a whole other conversation. Jenny is an amazing builder and puts her heart into what she does. You can see it in each home she builds. While there are always hard days, she leads her projects calmly and efficiently, and her trades all love working alongside her. She’s a great leader!
What’s been amazing is that those struggles have made us sharper, more creative, and more empathetic. They’ve shaped how we show up, as not just agents, but as true partners who can walk with our clients through every twist and turn of the process.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
At our core, we’re a full-service real estate team, but what really sets us apart is the way we combine market expertise, design and construction knowledge, and innovative marketing. Most agents focus on one piece of that puzzle, but we bring all of it together under one roof.
We specialize in helping clients buy and sell across Westlake, Lake Travis, and the greater Austin area, with a particular strength in preparing homes for market. That often means overseeing light remodels, guiding design choices, and handling all the details that help a home shine. Jenny’s building background allows us to walk into a property and instantly see opportunities, while my focus on market strategy ensures we position it for maximum value.
On the marketing side, we’ve leaned heavily into digital. We invest in SEO, Google PPC ads, AI-powered website searches, and stay active across Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and Google. Not just because it’s trendy, but because that’s where today’s buyers are looking. It’s a big part of why our listings get so much exposure and sell as strongly as they do.
Brand-wise, we’re most proud of the fact that people see us as approachable, knowledgeable, and hands-on. We want our clients to feel like they have true partners, not just agents. Our brand is about blending professionalism with a personal touch, being the team you trust with one of life’s biggest decisions, while also making the process as smooth and even fun as possible.
What we’d love readers to know is that whether you’re buying, selling, relocating, or preparing a home for market, we’re here to guide you through every step. From construction insight to digital marketing reach, our services are built to deliver results, but at the heart of it, we’re most proud of the relationships we build along the way.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
When it comes to networking, our biggest advice is to be intentional about the circles you join. We’re fortunate to be part of Compass Austin Luxury Advisors or CALA and the Austin Luxury Network, which gives us direct access to other top agents and opportunities for collaboration. Being agents at Realty Austin | Compass also means we have an incredible market reach and a strong network to tap into when we’re looking for off-market properties or just brainstorming strategy.
What’s worked well for us is showing up consistently and building genuine relationships. Networking in real estate isn’t just about passing out business cards, it’s about trust. When other agents know you do what you say you’ll do and you take great care of your clients, they want to work with you again and again. That’s where the real magic happens. We like to say that Austin is a small big city, and everyone knows everyone. Your reputation is your business.
I always recommend starting as an assistant if you’re considering this industry. That’s how I began, and it gave me a front-row seat to how the business really works day to day. From contracts to client care to marketing. You learn so much faster when you’re in the room, supporting someone with experience, and it gives you a foundation that’s hard to replicate on your own.
