Inspiring Conversations with Brandon Chang of Sun Chasers Lawn Care

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Chang

Hi Brandon, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started cutting my parents lawn as a chore growing up. I wanted to help so bad my parents let me start as soon as I was able to reach the handle bar. Getting older and eventually owning my own home I found myself in the “dad” stage staring off into the yard after a fresh cut. I moved down to Texas from Minnesota in 2024 to be closer to family and found the job market very tough. Instead of waiting for a job to come by after a couple months I decided why not try something I love doing? Started the process with the equipment I already had and started to find customers working straight out of my sedan. Focusing on quality work helped build a portfolio and trust with my customers.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
At the start there were a lot of obstacles. It’s never going to be a completely smooth ride in any endeavor is what I learned quickly. Finding customers starting from 0 with no real experience in a new state was very tough. Near the end of last season my older lawn mower broke down so I had to put my customers on hold until it was fixed. Learning how to cut a lawn properly from start to finish and all the knowledge I needed to catch up on was overwhelming. The first day I actually went out I felt the wrath of a 105F Texas day and contemplated if it was for me. But I stuck with it and the more you go down the road the clearer it becomes.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Sun Chasers Lawn Care ?
Specializing in providing quality cuts for anyone’s lawn. Focus is on helping customers getting a breath of fresh air and feeling proud when they walk out to their lawn by seeing a well kept yard. I treat everyone’s property as if it were my own rather than a piece of product.

How do you think about luck?
Holding strong and being persistent. Sometimes providers with a decent customer base may decide they don’t want to do it anymore. That’s when people come looking for a new provider. Staying positive and being thankful helps “luck” come along. But ultimately I believe in cause and effect. Our actions today help paint the picture to our lives for the ongoing future.
