Hi Carrie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi, thank you for having me. My name is Carrie Herrera and I am one of the owners of Texas Girl Cleaning Service. I am a mother of three boys and a wife. My family is my everything so starting a family business was important for us. Building generational wealth while serving our community with the quality services we provide. Texas Girl Cleaning Service started from the love of cleaning and organizing. I have always been over the top in cleaning and ensuring everything was in the right place. One night my wife, Shakia Herrera, told me it was time to start our own business, and here we are today. Our goal is to take over the city. We want everyone to know who Texas Girl Cleaning Service is.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Between us, working and starting this company was a challenge in itself. Starting at first was challenging, doing lots of research to figure out where to start and how much things will cost. Long hours also us doing marketing ourselves, posting on social media and giving out flyers hoping we can get our foot in the door to get clients even harder. We had to reset every day in the hope of getting one, which would lead to many more. This is a family ran business; keeping things separate from home gave us more challenges than usual. But we make it work for the love of what we do.
