Hi Chelsea, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I got started in the industry in 2009. I have worked for a few different companies and decided it was time to open my hair studio, where I can personalize the service and experience I provide.
It wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been relatively smooth?
My journey in this industry has been relatively smooth. A few bumps along the way, to be expected. Starting my own business has almost been too easy. The long hours and hard work feel different when it’s for your own business.

I provide high-quality, custom hair services for men and women of all ages in a one-on-one, personalized setting. My guests are free to be themselves in my space; it is their time to unwind and relax in a peaceful environment where they can enjoy a glass of bourbon or a craft beer.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
It sounds simple, but remain open to always learning. There are mentors around us; don’t let your ego get in the way or make you feel like you’ve “made it” because no one has!
