Today we’d like to introduce you to Crystal
Hi Crystal, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am born in raised in Austin, TX. I was the first and youngest in my family to attend college where I obtained my Bachelor’s of Science in Criminal Justice and Forensic Psychology and my Master’s of Science in Criminology. I have always been an incredibly driven individual and I knew that I wanted to control my own success. I had a career in tech sales as a Senior Manager of Sales and Senior Manager of Business Development for over 11 years. It was in 2017 when my husband and I decided to start investing in rental properties and fast forward to now I am a full time realtor alongside my husband and together we make up The Benavides Team. College sweethearts we are now together in love and in business we are raising our babies and chasing our dreams. We absolutely love what we do and we love our clients even more. We are passionate about real estate and committed to the success of our clients. We know how important it is to have a trusted partner in your corner that will support, guide and advocate for you throughout the entire buying, selling, leasing or investing process. We go above and beyond and know that each individual client is special, unique and on their own journey. We aim to understand the full scope of our clients goals and ensure that they are in good hands. We listen before we advise. Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It was not a smooth road at all to be able to become a full time realtor and truly do what I love. Tech Sales and especially sales leadership in that industry is a very male driven environment. I was almost always the only women, minority and mother at the table. When I became pregnant with our first child the company that I worked for did not have a maternity leave program. I had to fight my rights as woman and also for those women that would come after me. I am so thankful for my 11 years in tech because it taught me how to advocate for myself, have grit, tenacity and so become a master negotiator. These are all attributes that I carry over to my career in real estate and how I show up for my clients. Leaving the tech world was a very hard decision and scary because I was comfortable and able to support my family. However, I was not happy. I was burnt out and wanted to do something that I loved. I love real estate and I knew my heart that I needed to lean all the way and trust my gut. In January of 2024 I decided to walk away from an 11 year career in tech and jump all in real estate. I love what I do and I want to truly impact lives. Being in real estate allows me to do that. I am so proud that I took a chance and betted on myself.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I have always been a very driven individual ever since I was a little girl. I grew up very humble and knew that I wanted to be everything that I could be. I was always aiming to get straight A’s and be at the top of my class. I grew up with a very loving and close knit family that has always supported me. I was in high school making all A’s and at the top of my class my junior year when my counselor asked me if I had thought about where I was going to apply for college. I had no idea at the time that it was even an option for me. I was the youngest of three and the first to go to college. I filled out all of my own applications, set up my tours of the schools and told my parents that this was what I wanted to do. They had no idea what college even was but they knew that they were going to support. me all the way; and they did. Working hard and showing up for my family has always been my driver and now even more so as I have a family of my own now.
