Hi Deanna, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
What began as a love story of just two people (being myself and my husband), we grew a company from the ground up. One idea turned into a vision, and that vision became a space where imagination could come to life.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It was not always a smooth road. The first year of navigating everything in the industry takes a lot of grit. You have to be a people person and also serve the community.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Southern Starfall Events LLC?
We are, as a whole, an event and wedding planning/coordinating company. We specialize in weddings, but also offer decor and setup. Right now, our business is taking on a giant project of a fantasy masquerade ball.
What sets us apart from everyone else? We work with every client to make sure everything is tailored to them and that we are not just putting them in a price-out box. We go above and beyond to make sure every event goes smoothly and without issues.
Our fantasy masquerade ball “A Dance of Wings and Whispers” is our baby for the foreseeable future as we manage vendors, authors, decor, design, and all the other moving pieces no one sees. We are bringing a magical event to central Texas on a large scale and hoping to see 300 guests dance the night away.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Start with the locals. Then work your way up. We have gotten more clients by just word of mouth than by actual advertising.
