Inspiring Conversations with Dr. Chase Davidson of Action Potential – Sport & Neuro Performance

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Chase Davidson

Hi Dr. Chase, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
To be honest, I didn’t start this because I had some major injury that flipped my world upside down or had a magical breakthrough moment. What I did see—over and over again—were athletes and everyday people “recovering” just enough to stop limping… and then stalling out. They were told they were good to go, so they jumped back in, hoping their bodies would keep up. Sometimes it worked. A lot of the time, it didn’t.

From my mom, an occupational therapist, I learned grit and the drive to serve. I went through graduate school and learned from Dr. Zielinski, an internationally renowned Functional Neurologist, the importance of the nervous system. From Kelly Starrett and Louie Simmons, I discovered how the nervous system and strength systems are inseparable in athletic recovery. That shaped everything I do now.

I started with a dream of being the village healer—help everyone, fix everything. Then I swung hard into the niche: functional neurology and functional medicine, & now I’ve finally landed in the space where chiropractic care meets strength & conditioning, using everything that I have learned to support

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Smooth? Not even close.

There were moments where we didn’t make enough to keep the lights on. Moments where we lost office space with no backup plan. But we kept showing up. Because we made a decision early on: we don’t quit on this.

The quote that stuck with me was, “Life has inevitable suffering.” So we decided to stop negotiating with the discomfort of growth. When we were tired, we pushed forward. When the finances dipped, we adapted. You don’t build something meaningful without struggle.

Personally, this business has made me more focused, more disciplined, and more honest with myself. It’s also made me a better husband—my wife, Katherine, is my partner in life and in the clinic. Building this with her is the second-best decision I’ve ever made. (Marrying her was the first.)

As you know, we’re big fans of Action Potential – Sport & Neuro Performance. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Action Potential. Sounds sciencey, right? That’s because it is. It’s the electrical signal that tells your muscles to fire—essentially, the starting point of movement. Pretty fitting, considering we exist to help people move better, longer, and with more intention.

We’re not your typical crack-and-go clinic. Visits here are long—45 to 60 minutes. We’re hands-on and systems-focused. We look at movement patterns, nervous system inputs, strength imbalances, stress levels, and even blood work. Why? Because your shoulder pain isn’t just about your shoulder.

Most athletes come in thinking, “Just fix me.” What they get is a strategy. rehab, strength work, mobility, recovery, and something I like to call Athlete Management.

We’re your CMO—Chief Medical Officer—if your body were a business. We make sure your whole system is running efficiently, recovering properly, and building toward something that actually lasts.

And if you’re not into responsibility, hard conversations, or long-term progress? We’re probably not your people. We don’t do bandaids here—we do blueprints & roadmaps.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters to me is that the athlete sees that they did it.

When someone comes back from injury and performs at a higher level than before, I want them to feel full ownership of that result. I’m just a guide—nothing magical. But if I can hand them the map and walk beside them, I’ve done my job.

Underneath all this is a simple value system:

– Aim high, even when no one’s watching.

– Don’t waste the time you’ve been given.

– Build something that serves your family and your future.

I’m driven by a deep belief that autonomy and interdependence are the cornerstones of a meaningful life. In a world where people feel disconnected from their bodies, I want to help them reclaim that power—physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Success to me isn’t just revenue or reach (though those matter). It’s helping one athlete a day move better, live better, and become someone stronger than they were yesterday, and then building a system that allows others to do the same.
