Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Roddy.
Hi Heather, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have been an entrepreneur since I was 20 and over the last 17 years, I have built serval business & learned a shit ton about myself. I always say if you want to get to know yourself, start a business.
For the first 15 years of my entrepreneurial journey, I was in the beauty industry traveling as a global makeup artist & eventually created a lash extension business in Seattle. I loved connecting with women & being a bright spot in their day, but I knew deep down there was something bigger calling my name. And my body was screaming at me to find work that didn’t take a toll on it.
I wanted to take a different approach to this new adventure I was being called to. I really felt inspired to create a heart-centered business that was based on my soul gifts & the lifestyle I wanted to experience.
After deep-diving into self-healing & really connecting to the things that light me up in life, in January of 2019 I packed up my life in Seattle, closed down my 6-figure business & followed my heart to Austin, TX. I became a certified Energy Life Coach & had a brilliant idea to create my business online.
Let me just say that is has been a WILD ride to shift from serving clients in person with no marketing & almost nothing done online to running everything through social media & stepping into the foreign world of technology.
The person I had to become in order to create my vision has taken a shit ton of letting go, undoing & reimaging what’s possible for myself. It took faith, courage & a sisterhood of women who shared my vision & spoke my language.
Where I sit today, two years after my decision to risk it all for something greater, something more on purpose- I am SO fucking grateful for listening to myself ABOVE all else.
Today I have get to serve my soul mate clients in the way that feels fantastic. I do everything on Instagram & through my podcast. I have built an engaged community of Sensitive Empaths that are connecting to the truth of who they are & through energy healing & soul-aligned community, they are experiencing breakthroughs in their lives like never before.
I am SO grateful for the work I get to do!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has NOT been a smooth journey & I would NOT change anything about my experience. I’ve been doing this long enough to realize everything is happening FOR me. But at the beginning, I wasn’t aware of that.
I really struggled to be my authentic self. There were so many shoulds & “right way” to do things. But that just isn’t the case for everyone. My struggle to create a business that actually FELT good & was in support of being highly sensitive & empathic was very challenging. So I decided to use my struggle from the beginning & share my journey of starting a business online in the most authentic way. Being real from the beginning has actually shaped the foundation for my business & is the thing I value the most, authenticity.
The other thing I really struggled with was feeling supported by a mentor & community of people that GET it. Being in the spiritual space & growing a business on Instagram is different & the strategy is unique. Being understood by people who were going through the same thing was a game-changer for me. I hired a mentor that created in her world exactly what I wanted to create in mine & together, we have created a business that is sustainable & works! I am FULLY in charge & know how to show up for myself because I have strong women showing me what’s possible all the time.

I love the energy in Austin!! This is such a heart city & the people here are vibrant & friendly & always down for a good time. I appreciate that there is a sense of community & connection even though the city continues to grow.
The two things that I don’t like about Austin are the bugs & allergies. But everything else is amazing!
