Hi Helga & Diego, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
We are Diego and Helga! We are a young family with a 6 year old daughter named Valentina and a 8 month old baby named Vasco, we also have 2 English bulldog dogs named Ness and Nova. We came to Texas 5 years ago, we love living here!
This idea came up almost 4 years ago. Helga is an interior designer and architect and together with Diego they always wanted to do something different. Helga used to offer interior design services, in 2020 someone asked her to design a home office. She proposed a nice design with an accent wall, cabinets and shelves. The lady loved the idea and asked if they could make it happen. Helga and Diego were going to make their first accent wall. With some trepidation they searched for everything they needed to make the design a reality and they did it! After this experience they have not stopped making accent walls to this day.
The company grew, they sought to form a good working team and provide a different service to all the others, it was really a challenge for us to start this business from 0, we had to improvise many things because we did not have a model company from which to copy their business models which made us go through the whole process from 0, always looking to offer a different service. For example we quickly discovered that presenting the projects in 3D rendering designs was something that our clients really liked because it allowed them to visualize their projects before starting with their installations and we tried to take advantage of that and we felt that it made the design process much easier and allowed us to offer our clients different design options.
Urbeda LLC designs the accent walls prior to the day of installation, they havena different process.
We have done over the years many accent walls in different cities in Texas being mainly Austin and Dallas the places where we have had the best reception, we currently have 4 teams actively operating throughout the year, on average we do 10 accent walls per week and we seek to continue growing because we feel that every day the accent wall business is also changing and we must innovate whenever we can.
But not everything has been happiness and growth, along the way we have faced many difficult moments, situations that have led us to get the best of us, many times we have felt lost but like all life, with effort and dedication you can always get ahead, many times we have felt that every obstacle we have been able to overcome has served us to grow, but at the end of the day the most important thing is always to do what you love.
We hope our story will help you if you want to make the decision to start a business or go out and fight for your dreams.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The most difficult thing has been to find a process that is right for us and for the client.
We have made mistakes, and we will continue to make them, but the important thing is to move forward learning from these mistakes.
One day, competence appeared, some people making accent walls at a lower price, offering other kinds of things. We were scared but this has made us stronger.

We do accent walls with a different process and unique designs!
Our process starts with a blank wall that the client wants to decorate or see how it would look better in their home. That’s where our work begins!
We take the exact measurements, ask about the client’s tastes and start designing. We make 3 options for the same price. They are custom renders for each wall, with the exact measurements and the exact room.
After the design has been chosen, we choose the exact color and start the installation with our team.
We replicate the design exactly and the customer is as happy as possible!
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
We have many objectives in mind. We look forward to being America’s best accent wall company. We want to have a website (which we are already creating) and an App where people will pay a fee to design their accent wall, through us. People from different states will be looking to make a nice wall in their home and will use our website or app for this. If they want us to install it, we will do it and give them an estimate through our software, with the measurements of the wall. But also the design document that they generate themselves will serve to quote with anyone else!
We also want to have many teams working at the same time in URBEDA LLC.
We are looking to have franchises in other states, under our same methodology.
And in a short time, we will offer our first accent walls program! for all those people who want to learn this business, and want to earn a living through this activity.
