Today we’d like to introduce you to Kate Holmes.
Hi Kate, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
From the age of five, I was aware of pain and suffering in people, as well as the illusions in place in our society that seemed to pin people in around a culture of pain, fear and anxiety. I was raised in a spiritual community with teachers from the traditions of Toltec and Buddhist wisdom. My parents and teachers encouraged me to be open-minded about wisdom traditions and to “not join anybody’s camp.” I had a strong desire to unravel the mystery of human suffering in order to serve people to liberate themselves and return home to the beauty and magic of Creation incarnate.
As an adolescent, I delved into all the material I could find related to the spiritual evolution of humankind, from personal to social evolution. I experimented with Wicca, Buddhism and other traditions that offered practical application combined with religious philosophy. In school, I pursued paths in Art, Philosophy, Sociology and Psychology, absorbing all I could about how the mind of the individual self relates to the larger social mind and the greater cosmic mind of Source. What is the relationship between the Soul of Creation and the soul of an individual? What is the meaning of human existence and human suffering?
It became evident that all these traditions, belief systems and knowledge was pointing to a singular, ineffable and pervasive Truth. I graduated from college with a Humanities degree and then began my true education! For the past 15 years, I have deepened my PRACTICE along with my KNOWLEDGE of the true mystery of Embodiment of Divine Potential in Human Form, and this is my current mission for both my life and my work. I assist individuals and communities to live an Embodied and Present life, mindful and in harmony with all of Creation.
I’m a certified Kundalini Yoga Instructor, Reiki Level 1&2 certified, NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Apprentice Martial Arts Instructor and Meditation Instructor. I also offer Hand Poke Tattoo as part of my ritual services and love playing and experimenting in all of the arts.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Absolutely not easy at all!! I’ve doubted and questioned my sanity all along the way!! The lessons of our individual suffering are the tests of our lives, our will to move forward and adapt. Adapting to the perils of uncertainty and the direction of my business through the years has taught me so much about myself, my clients and my role in this world. For those of us in spiritual practices, relating to the material realities of being in business can be the biggest challenge to our growth. So much fear and trauma surrounds our relationship to money and the material aspects of life and having business. Healing these wounds for ourselves as healers and teachers is some of the most important work we can do for ourselves and our society.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Instant Practical Embodiment, LLC?
I work to facilitate joyful embodiment of spirit through one-on-one coaching, workshops and classes. I offer a diverse custom package depending on individual needs, from bodyweight mobility training, somatic yoga, and various forms of meditation. There is no one-size-fits-all style of Embodiment! We are all holding a vital piece of Divine Incarnation and the joyful experiment of life! I love sharing my methods with people because of the joy and surprise they experience realizing they don’t need a gym or a fancy yoga retreat to feel great in their bodies, minds and spirits at any age or ability level. I especially love working with individuals who have struggled with mental health issues, self-image and confidence. I offer online live, in-person as well as virtual on-demand material through my website.
I offer ritual services as well, related to elemental work, ancestral healing and ritual tattoo services. I’m a Minister through the Universal Life Church and can facilitate for any life transition.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I started out pursuing a career in the Arts and have classical training as a singer, painter and sculptor! I also play guitar and some cello. I believe that art has the ability to transform human consciousness on the collective and individual levels.
