Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaylee Ortiz.
Hi Kaylee, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Magnolia Supply Company began when our first child arrived. I needed a creative outlet and somewhere to focus my active imagination. That started me on the journey of designing and decorating baby items I couldn’t find anywhere else. What began as creating meaningful pieces for my daughter quickly grew into creating custom work for friends and family. From there, it evolved into weekend vending and eventually outfitting schools, small and large organizations, and government agencies with custom embroidery and branded apparel. What started as a creative outlet became full-blown entrepreneurship.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Instead of a smooth road, it’s been a marathon and thankfully i’ve present for every mile. As an Air Force veteran, I’ve learned to embrace challenge and prepare to fail forward even when the road gets bumpy. I know to keep moving forward. Each obstacle has gifted me with exposure, perspective, and ultimately opened the door to the next opportunity.
Some of the greatest challenges, transitioning from the military to corporate life, and then into entrepreneurship, have also become my greatest blessings. Through each transition, I recognized that structure does not naturally exist in entrepreneurship, so in this season I have made it a priority to intentionally build systems and processes to support my business. I think many would assume that equipment or operations would be the hardest part, but I’m a lifelong learner by nature. I see possibility where others see difficulty and I trust that if I’ve been called to this work, I’ll be carried through it.
As you know, we’re big fans of Magnolia Supply Company. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Magnolia Supply Company is a full service embroidery and branding company built on precision, consistency, and intentional craftsmanship. I work with schools, small and large organizations, and government agencies to create high quality custom apparel, headwear, and branded merchandise that people are proud to wear and represent.
Embroidery is my core specialty and every project is approached with a systems driven mindset from digitizing and stitch execution to production workflows and fulfillment so brands remain consistent at any scale. I do not believe in one size fits all solutions. Each client’s brand is treated with care to ensure it translates cleanly and professionally across garments and products. I take pride in the fact that every customer’s vision is heard and thoughtfully brought to life. Because I personally touch every garment at some point during the production process, quality control and attention to detail are never compromised. While traditional embroidery always has its place, I intentionally go beyond the typical by integrating new and emerging embroidery and decoration techniques whenever possible. This allows individuals and organizations to present themselves in a way that feels polished, distinctive, and genuinely unique rather than generic. What truly sets Magnolia Supply Company apart is reliability, technical expertise, and accountability. What began as a creative outlet has evolved into a trusted production partner built on structure, intention, and long term relationships. At its core, the brand stands for craftsmanship, service, and creating branding solutions that last.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I want readers to know that Magnolia Supply Company was built with intention, patience, and a deep respect for the people and brands we serve. Our growth did not happen overnight and every stage of this business has required showing up, learning, failing, and doing the work even when it was uncomfortable. I believe that craftsmanship still matters and that relationships matter just as much as the final product.
I am proud to be a woman owned, veteran founded business that continues to grow through trust, consistency, and community. Whether someone is placing a small personal order or outfitting an entire organization, the same care, attention, and integrity goes into every piece. My hope is that when people work with my company, they feel seen, supported, and confident in how their brand is represented.
