Inspiring Conversations with Lindsay, Chris, and Jared of Odd Pop

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay, Chris, and Jared.

Hello Lindsay, Chris, and Jared, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, how can you bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Odd Pop was born in Austin, TX, in 2017 to bring artisan popsicles fitting the city’s unique culture. From humble beginnings of testing recipes in our home kitchen, we’re proud to have expanded the brand to serve farmer’s markets, festivals, corporate events, and weddings. Jared, Chris, and Lindsay started the business after attending the Austin Ice Cream Festival, where we realized we could bring a more handcrafted, dessert-style popsicle to our city. We named the business “Odd Pop” because of the unique flavors we make and the “keep Austin weird” motto. We have developed into a local staple in Austin through word of mouth and hard work.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As with any business, we have had our growing pains. None of us have had our own business before, so we have had challenges along the way operating our own business, from managing our employees to keeping our product out of the sun so it doesn’t melt 🙂 We have figured out how to work with each other’s strengths to become the successful company we are today.

As you know, we’re big fans of Odd Pop. What can you tell our readers who might need to be more familiar with the brand?
We are a local artisan popsicle company specializing in dessert-style ice cream and fruit-driven pops. We are proud of the brand we have created and built in Austin, from our unique flavors to our branded sticks and pop trays. What separates us from other popsicle companies is our unique flavors (i.e., Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Strawberry Cheesecake, Mango Passionfruit, Lemon Thai Basil, “pup” sicle (for dogs), to name a few). We also do custom flavors, colors, sticks, and designs. We serve the Austin community through our paleta bikes and food trailer. We are the perfect option for a cool treat in the hot Austin weather, such as corporate events, weddings, birthday parties, festivals, etc.

How would we have described you growing up if we knew you were growing up?
Chris-Creative Lindsay-Shy and introverted, book smart, while Jared-outgoing, the life of the party.
