Inspiring Conversations with Nicole Lee of LearnLee

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Lee.

Hi Nicole , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
LearnLee’s story begins in 2020 with the school’s locking down. When told, “Bring your computer home,” during SPRING BREAK, all teachers knew something was wrong.

The months to follow tested me in many ways. Ultimately, as a parent and a teacher amidst a crisis – I knew what I needed to do. I chose to resign from Leander ISD in the summer of 2020. Teaching will always be at the center of my professional heart, but parenting and motherhood is who I am.

Hard to believe that was 5 years ago. My company is built upon quality, compassion and connection. I may have chosen to leave the profession, but I’ll never leave education. With multiple tutoring locations and a thriving consulting presence, I am blessed to continue support students with unique needs.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Ha – you ask if it’s been a smooth road. What’s that? Not really smooth, but beautifully rippled. I wouldn’t have it any other way. We are entrepreneurs and this is the rollercoaster ride of a lifetime.

Opening a business from scratch is both exhilerating and exhausting. My background is in education – not business. However, I love to learn and boy do I learn something new every single day!

We always tell our students to FAIL forward. Failure is a first attempt in learning. Sometimes you need a second, third, fourth failure – but we persevere. and grow. That’s what truly matters.

We’ve been impressed with LearnLee , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Here is the sophisticated answer:

An education consultant provides expert advice and guidance to institutions, educators, students, and families to improve educational programs, strategies, and outcomes. My key responsibilities include assessing needs, developing and implementing new educational programs, providing professional development and training for staff, analyzing data, and assisting with college admissions and career planning. The role requires strong critical thinking, communication, problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of educational theories, regulations, and best practices.

However…give me a call. You’ll see that compassion and connection are at the heart and soul of LearnLee.

I’m proud to serve students with unique needs. Why? Because they DESERVE unique solutions.

I’m the one to call if you’re feeling stuck regarding educational decisions for your child – whether that is wondering how to teach math in a way they’ll understand – wondering how to improve their reading and writing skills – wondering what their IEP actually means. These are just a few conversations that I get to have with parents.

How can I help your family?

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Y-E-S! I truly love networking.
My advice — if you can’t find what you’re looking for, CREATE it.
I believe many business owners are natural leaders. So create a community of support. Give more than you take. Stay true to who you are.

What has worked well for me?
I love to teach and others love to learn. There is SO MUCH to learn as a business owner. I certainly don’t know it all, but I’m here to cheer you on.
