Today we’d like to introduce you to Ross Flanigan
Hi Ross, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Started in 2015-2016. I was doing in-home personal training and really found my niche with male youth. My wife at the time started baking for me due to many of my dietary needs and restrictions. My clientele of young kids soon fell in love with our “healthy” baked goods and we knew we had something to build upon.
We left Maryland, packed our car with our belongings and headed to Texas on a sheer gut feeling about this project. In 2018 we open our cafe and bakery in New Braunfels, TX “The Gainz Bakery”. Within 6 weeks we out-grew our space, expanded into a full restaurant and storefront . Within 2 years we grew to back to back 7 figure revenue years. 2020 we were stable enough for me to take a step back from the cafe and bakery and pursue my actual dream of a creating “The Flavor Gang. A company specialize in handcrafted diet and macro friendly sauces and hot rice cereals called “Bowl o’ Gainz”. Within 3 years we are hundreds of local shops and gyms across the USA. Currently, we have our own production center here in Texas, Canada, Kuwait, and have a large presence in Dubai and the GCC.
Along with these entities, I am a full time online diet and training coach where I coach lifestyle population, college athletes, and competitive fitness athletes.
In 2023, I won my first profession Body Bodybuilding contest, the California Pro and made my first IFFB Olympia Debut.
I would describe my job as a true “creator”. I create food products, marketing content, satirical short skits on instagram.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
In all my projects the constant struggles are keeping up with demand of products within The Flavor Gang. We create and produce everything by hand which is a double edge sword. Allows us to do intricate aspects on a product level but also slows down all processes.

We are a culinary experience. We aim to change the way people view food, dieting, eating, and preparing food.
Our sauces are extremely flavorful and potent. Every sauce is packed with flavor and extremely flavorful and versatile. The sauces were the base of all of our meals created at our restaurant, The Gainz Bakery.
Our Bowl O’ Gainz product line are in the “hot cereal” category. It’s a rice based cereal that is basically dessert in a bowl. Bowl O’ Gainz (BOG’z) can be eaten like a bowl of oatmeal, made into protein packed pancakes or waffles or even breaded chicken dishes i.e nuggets, tenders, wings.
Our amazing loyal customer base usually has Flavor Gang in multiple meals per day whether its sauce stir fried with your food or having a Bowl O’ Gainz first thing in the morning.
We make everything in small batches as that is our strategy to control our high standard of quality. All of our recipes, products, designs, marketing etc is all done in-house. We pride ourselves in this aspect as the majority of businesses in the food space outsource all of their products. That allows are recipes and production procedures to be very specific.
We marketing is edgy, honest, and humorous. We believe that people need to laugh more and laughter and enjoying food are some of the most simplest pleasures.
We believe in true dietary freedom where we don’t major in the minors.
How do you define success?
The ability to use ones brain to set an intention, execute a plan or idea, and make a difference.
