Today we’d like to introduce you to Sean Hardeman
Hi Sean, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Ball-Hard started in 2008 at the Wells Branch MUD Recreation Center with 10 trainees aspiring to improve their basketball skills and achieve greatness. Over the years, it has grown significantly, with players earning prestigious honors like McDonald’s All-American, Jordan Brand Classic, and Pangos All-American. Since its inception, the program has helped over 350 players reach collegiate basketball.
Now in 2025, Ball-Hard remains a prominent force in basketball development, with seven recent nominations for the McDonald’s All-American game. The program has expanded its reach nationwide and globally, promoting basketball excellence. Through its “Train Like A Pro” programming, Ball-Hard now supports NBA, WNBA, and international players in achieving their professional goals as well.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
NO INVESTORS / NO MONEY PROPLE… just a dude with a dream of assisting “kids” play this game for free and obtain a collegiate education.
7 different gyms that we were displaced from – constant “moving” yet the participation never wavered,,, as one parent stated,” we will follow you under an overpass” – which sometimes it felt like that.
There are others, but these were the BIGGEST two hurdles.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Started in 2008 with the desire to be different; different in the sense of results VS just a training program for kids. We have put motivated players over profit… we are now able to “identify” players that have matrixes that coaches look for and we have learned to develop / nurture that into a collegiate opportunity. With 382 players to date, without doing teams / AAU that is an amazing number.
When you see that Ball-Hard logo the expectation comes with it. Some players shy away simply because of the demanding nature of the training. Ball-Hard houses literally, the best players in the city… this is where they tarin. Once again 13 players that have signed to play collegiate ball THIS YEAR alone + the 7 McDonald All American Nominees as well… we are proud of the development and the product that we put out every year.
The industry of training players has had an uptick after COVID and that is wonderful for these players as they have more accessible training… our new challenge is to get patents / players out of their “proximality ” issue (the closest trainer to me) versus connivence over results.
Ball-Hard offers everything from camps/ clinics to 1 on 1 workouts. We are known for our results (college players) – our kids are generally the leading scorer and the leader in general on every team… and we shoot the ball VERY WELL. Ball-Hard son, Miles Hardeman is a sophomore at Weiss High School. Currently he is shooting 54% from 3pt (at 111 attempts on the season). Prior to the Thanksgiving Break he was at 71% on 49 attempts… so its a lifestyle for sure .
