Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacey Palmer.
Hi Stacey , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Vivere Healthcare & Wellness was born out of both my professional experience and personal transformation. After facing and overcoming autoimmune disease through evidence-based lifestyle medicine, I saw firsthand how powerful nutrition, movement, stress management, and meaningful behavior change can be – often where traditional care falls short. That experience reshaped how I practiced medicine and ignited a passion to help others take control of their health before disease takes control of them.
As a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Diplomate of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, I blend advanced clinical training with a compassionate, whole-person approach. We specialize in Lifestyle Medicine, nutrition, cardiometabolic health, and prevention, focusing on practical, sustainable steps that reduce inflammation, improve energy, and support long-term vitality. Our care model emphasizes extended visits, clear education, and individualized plans so patients feel heard, supported, and confident in their next steps.
We founded Vivere Healthcare & Wellness in Georgetown, Texas, to offer a Direct Primary Care and Lifestyle Medicine model that prioritizes relationships over rushed visits. Our shared mission is to help patients prevent, manage, and even reverse chronic disease – restoring health, hope, and quality of life through evidence-based lifestyle change.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One of the biggest challenges has been building something that is truly different from the traditional healthcare model. Lifestyle medicine focuses on root-cause care, prevention, and long-term relationships, which often requires more education and explanation because it’s not what most patients are used to experiencing. We’ve had to help people understand that this approach is not just about treating symptoms, but about transforming health through nutrition, movement, stress management, sleep, and community support.
Another obstacle has been navigating the administrative and regulatory side of opening a hybrid Direct Primary Care and Medicare practice. Credentialing, insurance rules, and building new systems that support longer, more meaningful patient visits has been complex and time-intensive. At the same time, we have been intentional about creating a welcoming, patient-centered environment that reflects our mission and values.
We have also worked to introduce plant-forward nutrition and lifestyle medicine principles in a region where these concepts can sometimes be unfamiliar. Our goal has never been to overwhelm patients, but to meet them where they are and help them make sustainable, realistic changes.
While the journey has definitely had challenges, each obstacle has reinforced why we started Vivere Healthcare & Wellness – to give patients the time, education, and support they deserve to truly improve their health and quality of life.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Vivere Healthcare and Wellness?
Vivere Healthcare & Wellness is a lifestyle medicine and primary care practice based in Georgetown that focuses on helping patients prevent, treat, and often reverse chronic disease through evidence-based lifestyle interventions. Our practice blends traditional primary care with a membership model that allows for longer visits, deeper patient relationships, and a stronger focus on root-cause care rather than symptom management.
At Vivere, we emphasize six pillars of lifestyle medicine: whole-food, plant-forward nutrition, physical activity, restorative sleep, stress management, avoidance of harmful substances, and meaningful social connection. We work with patients across all stages of health, from prevention and wellness optimization to chronic disease management, weight loss, and metabolic health improvement.
What makes our practice unique is the time and partnership we build with patients. We believe healthcare should feel personal, supportive, and empowering. Instead of rushed visits, we focus on education, accountability, and helping patients make sustainable changes that improve both longevity and quality of life.
Our mission is simple: help people live healthier, fuller lives – which is exactly what “Vivere” means, to live.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
One thing that might surprise people is that my passion for lifestyle medicine grew out of my own personal health journey, including overcoming autoimmune disease. Like many people, I tried nearly every popular diet over the years – including Paleo, keto, Atkins, and Weight Watchers – while searching for a sustainable way to improve my health and energy.
Ironically, the book that ultimately changed my life was Eat to Live by Dr. Joel Fuhrman. I actually saved that book for last because I thought adopting a plant-focused lifestyle might mean giving up some of my favorite foods – including queso. What I discovered instead was a completely new way of approaching food as medicine and a sustainable path to long-term health.
That experience deeply shaped how I practice medicine today. I understand firsthand how challenging behavior change can be, which allows me to meet patients with empathy, encouragement, and practical strategies rather than judgment. My personal journey is a big part of why I’m so passionate about helping patients make realistic, lasting lifestyle changes.
