Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Aileen Warren of Central Austin

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Aileen Warren. Check out our conversation below.

Aileen, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day are my most productive, so I get to work right away. With my creativity highest in the morning, I use this time to think about new designs—whether it’s preserved floral arrangements for our gift sets or large-scale moss installations for Austin workspaces. Being surrounded by my own preserved florals at home keeps me focused and reminds me why I started Fleur Reverie: to bring calm, sustainable beauty into high-paced lives.

Once those early ideas are captured, I move into planning and client work, from coordinating nationwide floral gift orders to mapping custom biophilic projects for architects and wellness spaces. Starting my day this way grounds me in both creativity and business focus, setting the pace for everything that follows.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Aileen, co-founder of Fleur Reverie, an Austin-based floral design brand specializing in preserved floral arrangements, moss walls, and sustainable gift sets that we ship nationwide. My background is in high-paced business, and I created Fleur Reverie with my husband Zachary to solve a challenge we experienced personally—how to bring nature’s calm and focus into demanding careers without the upkeep of traditional flowers.

What makes us unique is our use of 100% natural, preserved flowers and moss, which last for years with no maintenance. Our collections are designed around moods—like Calm & Focus for productivity or Vibrant Bloom for energy—so clients can choose decor that supports how they want to feel. Beyond homes, we also partner with Austin’s architect firms, tech startups, and wellness spaces to create custom biophilic moss installations and bulk gifting solutions that are both wellness-driven and LEED-compliant.

Right now, I’m most excited about expanding our Workspace Design and Bulk Gifting collections—helping companies invest in environments and client experiences that inspire, connect, and last. Fleur Reverie is about more than decor; it’s about shaping energy and creating harmony through design.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest memory of feeling powerful was when I was young and realized I could take an idea and turn it into something real. I remember organizing small projects and seeing people respond to something I had created—it gave me a deep sense of independence and possibility. That same feeling has carried into Fleur Reverie, where I now get to design preserved floral arrangements and moss installations that shape how people feel in their spaces.

For me, power has always been about creation and impact—taking a vision and seeing it uplift someone’s mood, transform a workspace, or bring harmony into a hectic life. That’s when I feel most aligned and most powerful.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could say one kind thing to my younger self, it would be: follow your instincts and experiment with your ideas. I’ve learned that when you trust your creativity and give yourself space to test new directions, you often discover your purpose more quickly and successfully. Looking back, I realize every experiment—whether in business or design—has led me closer to building Fleur Reverie and shaping spaces that bring balance and intention.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes—the public version of me is very much the real me. I’m a transparent person, and what you see is what you get. That said, depending on the occasion, I emphasize certain parts of myself—like my passion for nature-driven activities and biophilic design—because they’re such an important part of what we do at Fleur Reverie. At the core, though, whether I’m meeting with a client, designing a preserved floral arrangement, or speaking publicly, it’s the same me.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What are you doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years?
The work I’m doing today that won’t fully pay off for 7–10 years is investing in building Fleur Reverie’s foundation for long-term growth. That means developing a brand rooted in sustainability, creating lasting partnerships with Austin architects, wellness spaces, and startups, and educating clients about the value of preserved florals as a low-maintenance, eco-friendly alternative.

These efforts don’t bring instant results the way a seasonal trend might, but over the next decade they’ll position Fleur Reverie as a nationwide leader in biophilic floral design. The payoff will be in strong brand recognition, loyal relationships, and the cultural shift toward sustainable, nature-driven spaces that we’re helping to pioneer today.
