Life & Work with Amanda Mamerow of Goliad

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Mamerow.

Hi Amanda, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was in college fixing to graduate. I had been applying for jobs but no return calls. A little boutique in my hometown was retiring and I decided the best way to get experience was to purchase the business and go into business for my self. This year I celebrate 15 years in business.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. It has been a very curvy road with lots of up and downs.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As I own a small business I like to be part of the community and I do that in many ways. When my store was in Ganado I put together a monthly Farmers Market. I also encouraged, organized and got started various city events like Christmas on the Square. When I moved my store to Goliad I became very kid focused and have art contest, go above and beyond to participate in community events and host a lot of FREE craft events inside my store for the children.
