Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrew Martinez.
Hi Andrew, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Well, me and my brother Adrian Martinez started writing music at a young age and have now been playing live music with each other for 20 years!
Our band Forever Miles has gone through different iterations going from a two piece band to now a four piece band and everything in between.
We have been based out of Austin in Houston for the past couple years now while the work on making music touring and releasing new merch drops.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It wasn’t always smooth. We had some trouble during 2020 with Covid, having a full tour booked in April right before everything got canceled.
Instead, we had to drop everything in sort of rebrand. We almost didn’t make it out of Covid.
The band was definitely close to being finished with having lost a band member. It was just the two of us again and we wound up finding Sergio and Rochelle at the perfect time to come together inform Forever Miles as we know now.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
We are a rock alternative fusion band from Austin/Houston .
We mesh funky beats with heart thumping Drums , melodies that make you hum all well sprinkling in some fresh trumpet solos.
We’re so proud of the music we’ve been able to make together it almost feels like a rebranding with our next single coming out this year!
We have exciting shows to announce and exciting new march drops!
2025 we’re coming for you!
And I would say one of our biggest accomplishments has been a two week tour in Japan, July 20 24 we made amazing connections and amazing friends and you got to take our music across the world. We definitely look forward to continuing that onto the next coming years
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
everyone’s different and you just gotta find someone who’s just as passionate as you are. You don’t always have to get along, but finding someone that is just as passionate is important to finding constructive criticism and ways to navigate the scene.
They all work similar they may have different processes here and there, but as long as you’re talking to someone, who’s just as passionate, there’s always a way to make it work you gotta keep an open playbook
