Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrew Shebay
Hi Andrew, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started my film career at Sydney Film School in Sydney, Australia in 2011 after seven years traveling around the world. After my time in the Australian film industry, I moved back home to Texas.
Settling back in Austin, TX in 2013 I immersed myself in the Texas film industry working as a Production Assisant on Features, TV and commercials.
In 2015 I took the leap to create my own company, Pipeline Films, and work on projects that resonated with me. I believe in honest storytelling inspired by real people and their experiences that shape them. I love to collaborate with filmmakers, advertising agencies and brands worldwide that share this vision.
Through 12+ years in the film and commercial industry, I’m proud to have won awards for Producing and Directing. I continue to strive to build a team that fits with each project and create real human stories that resonate with a wide array of audiences.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s never been a smooth road and it will never be a smooth road. Every project you pour your heart and soul into, you always have doubts. You’re always working on constraints; Budget, crew, timelines, etc. The best thing about working in the film industry is working through those constraints as a team. You are not working with machines, you are working human beings and human emotion – in front of and behind the camera. It is never going to be smooth and it is never going to be perfect. That’s what makes it so beautiful and special. When you can create something with a group of creative individuals and have so many imperfections along the way but the end result has feeling and emotion to it that the audience can resonate with, then that is what becomes truly perfect.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a Producer/Director in the Film industry. I work on branded content, feature films, documentaries and TV development. I love telling stories based on real people and their experiences that shape them. I don’t think anything sets me apart from others, just that I love what I do and the people I work with.
