Today we’d like to introduce you to Angelica Vega.

Hi Angelica, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started my lash career in Dallas, TX. After having my second child and being a stay at home mother, I knew that I had a purpose and was made for more. I took the leap of faith and started to utilize my cosmetology license and went back into the workforce. Starting out at a well-known franchise lash studio, I developed a passion for lashing and I knew that I wanted to offer a more personable and higher-end service. Shortly, I moved to Austin, TX and went straight into training at the same franchise lash studio. The quality and service that I wanted to provide wasn’t there and I felt as if I was missing something. Although I was extremely grateful for all the experiences and amazing people I’ve met along the way, I decided to start my own small lash business after almost throwing in the towel in the beauty industry. I knew that God didn’t bring me this far just to quit. Now I encourage and motivate younger licensed lash artists to go and chase their dreams. Love and enjoy their career because it isn’t just being a lash technician, we are artists and a therapist at the same time. I do not regret any of it. This industry saved me and has helped me become the woman/MOMpreneur that I am today.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely not. Sometimes I think and ask myself, “Will I truly make it?” OR “Am I really hustling enough?” But then, I remember that from one amazing and happy client, they go and spread the word.

My business has been based on referrals. I am completely grateful for all of my clients that have supported my vision, dream and have been through it from the beginning.

I remember starting with only $60 dollars in the business account and a lot of prayers and now I have a steady and loyal clientele. I love each and every one of them.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My specialty is Lashes and Beauty. All around beauty.

I absolutely love ALL THINGS BEAUTY.

I am known for providing a customized look for each of my clients. We start off as a conversation either via phone or text messages. We discuss their lash, brow, make up, on-site service goals and we decide if we are a right fit for each other.

I am most proud of my lash and brow artistry. Although, I miss doing hair on a daily. It was very time-consuming and as a single mother of two, I have a hard stop and with hair, you can tend to run over in time. It is also what feeds my family, so thank you to my steady and loyal lash clientele.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Most people may not know that I use my own private label high-quality products as well as a well-known luxury couture lash brand. I am also huge into fitness and well when there is a modeling opportunity, I will slay the runway.
