Hi Candice , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hi I’m Candice Watt a Registered Nurse, Founder, and CEO of Soul & Earth Company. My journey began several years ago when I made a bold decision to cut off my chemically damaged hair and embrace a natural, chemical-free loc journey. That choice transformed not only my hair, but my life.
Through trial, care, and intention, I began blending powerful, natural ingredients to support my own hair growth. I never imagined that my personal routine would spark so much curiosity but when people kept asking, “What are you using in your hair?” I knew I had something special.
That question led to the birth of our first product: the Its Golden Hair Growth Serum a carefully crafted blend of essential oils and plant-based ingredients that mimic the scalp’s natural sebum, encourage strong, healthy growth, and reduce breakage. Soon after, I introduced the Its Golden Hydration Mist to complement and elevate your hair care experience.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve faced challenges with balancing resources, educating customers on the benefits of natural ingredients, and standing out in such a competitive market. There were times when I questioned if people would really see the value in products that are made with intention and care. But each struggle pushed me to refine my vision, stay true to my brand values, and keep moving forward. Those challenges are part of what shaped the business into what it is today a wellness brand focused on nourishing people, inside and out.

Ive been in healthcare since 20o3 and Ive been a Registered Nurse for about 10 years now. It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
My advice to anyone just starting out is to give yourself grace and stay consistent. As a nurse and entrepreneur, I’ve learned that growth takes time whether it’s healing the body or building a business. Don’t get discouraged if results aren’t instant. Focus on being intentional, learning as you go, and staying true to your ‘why.’
One thing I wish I knew in the beginning is that you don’t have to have it all figured out before you start. Perfection can keep you stuck. The important thing is to begin, stay committed, and be open to adjusting along the way. Every challenge you face is shaping your journey and preparing you for what’s ahead.
