Today we’d like to introduce you to Carson Thornton
Hi Carson, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started off playing basketball freshman year of high school and had an injury that set me back about 3 months. Struggling to regain my previous skill, I picked up a camera in search of something I could pursue. Since then, it has taken me places I couldn’t even imagine, being a prominent figure in Austin sports photography as only a junior in high school, shooting NFL players and highly recruited high school athletes.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Multiple times I have hit financial road blocks, not being able to buy equipment to further my photography career, sometimes setting me back behind my peers.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a sports photographer and I specialize in basketball, but I shoot everything including church, events, and wildlife. I am most proud of my progress, going from shooting freshman basketball players to NFL players in under a year.
