I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Owning a small business has been incredibly challenging, and defiantly not for the faint of heart. Our location started strong in 2018 but soon faced sever challenges in 2020. When the pandemic hit, we were without client interaction for most of the year while still having to pay overhead fees of a new brick and mortar location. The ONLY saving grace during that time to produce revenue was our client base buying gift certificates each month, trusting that they would one day again get to redeem them. Second to that effort, the City of Hutto, really wanted us to be able to open our doors again, so they provided several no cost marketing videos to keep the word alive that the newest, top of the line business was here to stay.

Ideal Massage is known for our non-routine, non spa fluff and buff style massage offering. We thrive on the idea that no two massages are the same. What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was raised by entrepreneurs. My father owned businesses, and my mother developed medical patients for products that helped with ostomy wound care. I was raised to know the value of hard work, and a gamble of chasing a dream that was not yet done by anyone else. I was strong willed, stubborn, and absolutely went against the grain. I was raised to know and follow God, with a strong moral compass. Located in a predominantly African America culture, I made friends with those that were unlike me and grew to love the difference in humans and what we can offer.
