Hi Claycee, I’m so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I grew up in Wimberley, TX. I have always lived a very fast-paced and busy lifestyle. After having my daughter, that didn’t change. I started experimenting with makeup and all things beauty-related, which led me to get my esthetician license at Aveda Institute in Austin, TX. I strive to give the best quality of work and always stay current on trending/new styles and beauty tips. I have since received my master’s certification in Eyelash extensions and have my certification in cosmetic tattooing. I enjoy spending the days with my daughter and husband in my spare time, watching her grow and bestowing as much knowledge as possible. Being an entrepreneur has always been my goal! Within the last year, I have started a roofing company with my husband, Family Roofing. We are fully insured and compete with all the corporate roofing companies in the Austin area. Without having a huge overhead and being a family-owned business, we can save people thousands of dollars while getting the same, if not better, quality of work. “Nothing is stronger than family” is our motto and what we live by daily.
Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
It has not been easy navigating my way through life as an adult or child. My father died when I was 6 years old, and as many people know, that leads to a whole life of challenges in itself. With the help of a strong mother and a wonderful family, my childhood was full of laughter and beautiful memories. After high school, I traveled for a while and eventually had my daughter. Once I became a single mother, I knew I couldn’t put myself on the back burner any longer. On top of being a full-time parent, I went to school and tried to provide the best home life for my daughter. Through persistence and dedication, I was able to make that happen. Although it was difficult, I wouldn’t trade it for the world. It has taught me so much and equipped me with a mindset that helps me and allows me to help others.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might need to become more familiar with what you do, what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a licensed esthetician specializing in eyelash extensions with a certification in cosmetic tattooing. I am excited to push myself into the business of making people feel more confident in their skin. Seeing me leads to looking great, looking great leads to feeling great, and feeling great is more invaluable than ever.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was heavily involved in sports and extracurricular activities. I was riding horses if I wasn’t playing softball year-round or select volleyball. I strived to do everything from equestrian to polo cross, cutting and sorting, and barrel racing. I have always been very competitive, which I have carried with me into adulthood.
