Today we’d like to introduce you to Cure King
Hi Cure, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
As an up and coming rap artist in the city, I needed help when it came to promotional materials such as graphics, photography, print, recording, videos and online marketing to get my music out there. At every turn I could not find a sustainable and affordable way to do so, so I decided to take a chance and use the money for my budget to perchance my own equipment such as cameras, and lighting equipment for photos and videos, computers, and audio equipment for graphics and recording, and partnered with a local print company for flyers and posters. I taught myself how to do photography and graphic design, and also how to edit videos and record, mix, and master music. In the end my music career never took off in the way I hoped, but people loved my flyer designs, photography, and videography skills enough that I was able to make a living off of it and create an entire business around those skills I’ve learned.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not all the time. There are long stretches of time when I have no clients, or times when I have more work than I can handle by myself. There are also times when I take on projects that just do not interest me at all so its a drag getting through it. But all in all, its fun and I enjoy what I do.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
For the most part, I am a Photographer and graphics designer. I’m mostly known for my photography in genres such as tattoos, erotic, boudoir, fashion, lingerie, couples, portraits, and events. I’m booked more often than not for adult oriented work but I am definitely proud of the albums I’ve created for my clients and models. What makes me different from most of my counterparts is that I give my clients all of the images taken where most will only hand over a hand full.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Don’t overthink it. You will talk yourself out of doing more than you will actually accomplish if you let yourself. If you have an idea just run with it. When I was starting out, I had no Idea that I would be doing what I do for other people, and if I did, I definitely would have gotten more creative in the beginning.
