Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenny Law
Jenny, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My husband and I moved to Austin 10 Years ago from NYC to start a family. After both kids were old enough to go to school, I decided to go back to the work force. With a background in entertainment and fashion PR, there were not many opportunities here, so I decided to give Real Estate a try. It started out as a hobby to meeting more people and learn more about Austin, but quickly exploded into a successful business all within 3 years. I went from being an agent on a team at a boutique brokerage to running my own team at one of the most reputable brokerages in the world.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I first got my real estate license in April of 2020, right after everything shut down due to the pandemic therefore the start of my career was in a very unusual time. My initial experience in Real Estate was during a time when the industry was facing an anomaly. Interest rates were historically low and homes were getting 50+ offers. During this time, it was a seller’s market unlike any in history. My introduction to the industry was homes going under contract with multiple offers withing 24 hours. As the interest rates increased, and the market started normalizing, I needed to adjust my strategy to fit a drastic roller-coaster of market shift all within my initial 3 years of being Thankfully my 10 years of corporate experience in marketing and forecasting came in handy to effectively acclimate to the changing market hence taking me to where I am today.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am currently a Global Real Estate Advisor with Kuper Sotheby’s International Realty. I specialize in the the facilitation of buying and selling real estate. My clientele includes luxury residential buyers and sellers, developers as well as investors. Within 4 years of working in the ever-so-changing Real Estate industry, I have been able to establish a reputable name within the industry, earned numerous awards and have sold hundreds of millions in real estate. My degrees in International Relations and Business Administration from Boston University as well as my 10+ years marketing and public relations experience in some of the most high-profile companies in the world has been instrumental in my success within Real Estate. My understanding of the economy, global relations, strategic marketing, networking and forecasting while working with integrity, competence and professionalism definitely gives me an edge in helping my clients succeed.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I believe one of the best keys to success is staying on top of industry news. Austin Business Journal, NY Times, Wall Street Journal, Inman, and The Statesman are my source of industry and economic news. For trends and marketing forecasting, I rely on social media, online lifestyle blogs (especially Culture Map Austin) and pop culture media.
