Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Murray.
Hi Jessica, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I studied photography and graphic design at BYU-Idaho for my bachelors degree. It wasn’t until after I had my first baby in 2018 that I focused on photography as a way to help me be creative, help others and maintain my need for social interaction with the people around me. I began photographing professionally in 2021 when I began my LLC and made my business official. It has been a wonderful journey as each year since has brought new friends, new clients, and new ways of creating beautiful artwork. I am a student for life. Though I am confident in my skills as a professional photographer, there will always be more to learn. I love investing in my education, collaborating with people other businesses around me, and establishing an environment of respect and perseverance. As a mom to the most incredible four children, being a photographer has given me the flexibility of being with them full time, as well as being uniquely me whenever clients need amazing photos! I hope to instill in my children, a love of creativity, hard work, and a genuine love for the people around them.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not always a smooth road! As a mom, there’s been years where I needed to take steps back from my business. I have been working on growing my business through 4 different pregnancies. As I look back on what I’ve accomplished as both mom and a business woman, I am deeply humbled and grateful for all those who have supported me when my own efforts weren’t enough. My husband has always been my biggest cheerleader, and my immediate family – my foundation. I’m grateful for the clients that return every year for more photographed memories, and for new clients who trust my reviews and give me a chance to capture special parts of their lives! Overall, I consider myself lucky to have the business I do. And I’m so excited to see what it can become in the future.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a photographer and have a passion for families/high school seniors, couples and weddings! I specialize in high end portraiture with an emphasis on the quality and color of the images. My style is vibrant, energetic, and authentic. I love when my clients value their photographs as much as I do. When they see the value that photography plays in creating special moments. I am most proud of giving each new client a good experience so they want to keep taking pictures as the years go by. I believe my genuine love for people sets me apart as a photographer. On a typical wedding day, I’m not just taking photos, I’m getting you water, getting stains out of your dress, holding your shoes, giving you a pep talk, fixing makeup, rounding up the groomsmen (and keeping them in line… while having a blast!) I’m there til the very end of the night to see you both off. And I consider it the highest of privileges that people value paying to see themselves through my eyes. It’s an honor, and I truly love it!
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I would love to collaborate with businesses as they need photography for their employees, place of business, clients, or rebranding. Referrals are one of the best things you can do to support me. As that gives people confidence and trust in my work. I value all reviews given and work to make my clients happy in all regards!
