Today we’d like to introduce you to Larry & Myra Lundstrom.
Hi Larry & Myra, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
it all began in 1996 on Congress Avenue in Austin. I was standing outside the Miller Crockett House Bed & Breakfast, heart pounding like I’d sprinted a marathon. My plan was to propose to Myra at Landry’s Seafood—romantic, right? Except Landry’s had already closed. So there I was, sweaty palms and shaky voice, dropping to one knee on the sidewalk. She said yes. And that moment… it did more than launch a marriage. It sparked a journey we never could’ve scripted.
Just a year later, Myra and I launched our first creative agency. Zero roadmap. Zero funding. Zero clue. I was juggling client work at Tri-Star Solutions and trying to pass anything I could off for referrals. One fateful and shocking meeting later, it became obvious: we should just do this ourselves. So we did. Pretty much on a “Well, we just started a new media agency.”
That accident became Optimedia, and we built it, scaled it, bought the .com from a guy in Russia, and then 5 years later sold the IP to Publicis UK. “Hey—keep going.” That led us to all kinds of clients: Sprint PCS. A Japanese antistatic resin company. Several pharma companies and also ministries. And we just can’t leave out the Chuck Norris–Edwin Edwards–John Brotherton book project—yeah, that happened. I can totally picture it now as a velvet-Elvis-style poster: Chuck mid-kick. Thinking we need to bring this whole vibe next year to Austin SXSW. Whose down for it?
Fast-forward 25 years. We’ve had the privilege of working with everyone from scrappy start‑ups to multinational brands. Somewhere along the way, we launched CLLCTV Agency (http://cllctv.org) —again, almost accidentally. But this time, with real purpose: a clarity to serve faith-driven organizations wanting high-impact, story-forward creative.
We’re not a design shop. I mean, that’s one of our core offerings. But it’s way more. We’re a team of creatives, strategists, storytellers—rooted in our faith, obsessed with impact. And here’s some of the fun stuff we’ve done:
– Engineered the grassroots global strategy behind The Chosen TV Series & Come and See Foundation—now streaming in 194 countries.
– Wrote & created Pitch Decks for organizations like Chime Online banking to SpaceX StarLink. Some call us a C-Suite Secret Weapon.
– Launched seven multisite churches across Texas, Florida, and California—complete with full brand and engagement rollouts.
– Teamed up with SpaceX StarLink and KALI to bring broadband and sustainable food systems to remote Alaska.
– Built digital platforms—from podcasts to TV—that now reach millions.
– Supported over $160 million in donor development and fundraising campaigns.
– Crafted pitch decks for startups like Chime—helping them scale and raise.
– Developed brand strategies for Duke Energy, Brainy Pixel Studios, and many more.
– Equipped churches—new and established—with everything from conference launched to complete media & content platforms.
Through it all, it’s been Myra, me, and several of our closest friends, working side-by-side: usually I’m up for a trip or two, and her still barrel-racing once professionally on Frosty Angel Pine. We’re still figuring things out—still waking up every morning focused on what we have now with a desire to help others. And we are grateful to know whose we are and why we do this.
From sidewalk proposals to global missions… His story keeps unfolding. And trust me, we haven’t even hit the good part yet.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
A few of the notable obstacles and challenges some personal business related.
On the business side, the sale of our company Optimedia started with an intellectual property infringement case from Publix out of London. It just so happens they had made $8.6 billion that year and we were clearing a little less than that at the time.
So what started to become a distraction turned into a positive for the sale of the company once it was established that we had trademarked and started our company the month before there’s reached the United States.
I think it helps the day. I called the CEO of Media international the company under Publix and negotiated through his voicemail basically side, stepping all of the attorneys that were interested in keeping the case going. Then next week we receive an offer.
On the personal side imagine worst case scenario for many families and young couples. Our son was diagnosed with leukemia age 3 and passed 11 days later. We both lost our parents except for Myra’s dad. By the time we were 27.
And then, of course, there’s the obstacle every small business faces how to get larger companies to pay their invoices on time. Laugh out loud.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Myra and I specialize in walking alongside organizations and helping them bring clarity to their messaging and strategy and launching into new markets and also how to connect better with their existing customer base.
What’s unique is we are a faith based organization, but we serve both Ministry and marketplace organizations with creative services, strategy, marketing engagement, and networking. This helps out with large project in venture Fundraising to just improving how to reach target audiences in a hugely effective way.
And we bring a fun and personal style and attention to brands and orgs that larger agency can sometimes miss.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Happiness, and joy, happen when others win. When we are able to operate in our strengths and sweet spot and walk alongside people, organizations, ideas, and see those ideas bring value for everyone involves. Creating a win-win.
