Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Prince.
Hi Lauren, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
At 25 years old, I launched Mama Barre in February 2025 with 22 incredible moms and their babies joining us on opening day. Since then, I’ve partnered with other local small businesses, creating a supportive and growing community. What began as a once-a-week class has now expanded to a four-day barre schedule, with an expansion to Hutto set for June. Mama Barre truly reflects the energy and love of the amazing mamas and littles who continue to show up and grow with us.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I believe that anything truly valuable in life comes with its own set of challenges and obstacles. It’s all part of the journey and adds to the story. Throughout this experience, I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have the unwavering support of my husband, friends, and family who’ve helped bring this vision to life. Whether it was a few kind words, a share on social media, or simply showing up to class each week, their encouragement has meant everything to me. I truly couldn’t have done it without them.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Dance has been a constant in my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I poured my heart into rehearsals, competitions, and conventions, fully immersed in the world of movement. After graduating, my passion naturally evolved into teaching and choreographing. At 21, I embraced a new role as a stay-at-home mom to my first daughter, and by 23, I welcomed my second. After her birth, I became a certified pre-and postnatal barre instructor, combining my lifelong love of dance and fitness in a way that allowed my babies to be with me every step of the journey. Of all the roles I’ve taken on, being a stay-at-home mom is the one I’m most proud of. It’s by far the most challenging, and the most rewarding job I’ve ever had. As a stay at home mom, you’re your child’s first teacher, caregiver, and sense of safety. It’s work that is both demanding and deeply meaningful, and there’s no one else who can do it in your place. While there are hard days, the time spent in these early years with my children is something I will always cherish, and it makes every challenge worth it.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Kindness is at the heart of everything we do at Mama Barre. From day one, my goal has been to create an inclusive, uplifting space where everyone feels seen, supported, and genuinely welcome. It’s more than just a workout, it’s a community built on encouragement, connection, and showing up for one another.
