Today we’d like to introduce you to Nizzy Mac.
Hi Nizzy, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I first got started making and customizing wigs and hair units for myself, which then turned into a small business that I ran making units for paying customers. With little to no luck with that business venture, I then went on to start making youtube videos and short tutorials on how to apply wigs and the best wigs and hair to use. My youtube channel took off after some time and now I am almost a full-time content creator. Because I have built an audience that trusts my judgment and fashion sense, I am now an all-around influencer instead of just specific with hair. I currently make content about hair, fashion, makeup, all things beauty, and most recently, I started another venture which touches on my love for video games.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has not been smooth. When I first started creating content, I would film one wig review a week. Once I realized I was able to make this another stream of income for myself, I started to take it more seriously. This required me to pour more time into creating content. I was a content creating machine for a while and it became a job to me which became less fun and something I am less passionate about. I began to question my worth as well as feelings of self-doubt came over me. I wasn’t sure how I could feel so bad about doing something I once loved to do. At times I still feel like this but I have learned to realize that I can take my time when making content and if your audience is for you, they will indeed wait. I have also overcome these feelings by learning how to make batch content or film multiple videos in one sitting so that I have more free time outside of creating content.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I create beauty, makeup, hair, and fashion content. I upload content across a large majority of all social media platforms on a weekly sometimes daily. I am best known for my wig review content which tells my audience how to find affordable priced units, and how to style them flawlessly or how to care for the units. Even though I am known for my wig reviews, I am sometimes known for my fashion content. I will take different outfits and show my audience how to style clothing while being plus-sized. I did not know that my audience would pay attention to what I was wearing in my wig review videos so I tried new content involving clothing so I am not niche specific, I am a jill of all trades. I am most proud of myself for crushing my goals that I created when I first started my youtube channel. My goal was to achieve 10K followers on my YouTube channel, Today I am at 12K, and 35K on TikTok. It feels good accomplishing goals and I def have more goals set for myself to keep pushing myself. What sets me apart from others is my authenticity. I like to keep it real with my audience, everything I say and do is for a reason and you can guarantee that my reviews are honest and can be treated as though they came from a friend.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I believe being genuine is the key to success. We are currently in a time where everyone is making content so staying in your own lane is the best option. Once you try to make content similar to someone else’s I feel like you lose a little bit of yourself and it will show in the content made. Be who you are and show the world that there is only one you.
